Concha Jareño Boston Workshop OCTOBER 19 – 22, 2023

Having earned her degree in Spanish Dance, Concha Jareño has been awarded the “Matilde Coral” and “Mario Maya” Prizes for Flamenco Art in Cordoba 2007, Best Solo Choreography in the Competition of Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography, Madrid, and second prize in the Competition of “Cante Flamenco” Las Minas. In 2008 she premiered “Simplemente Flamenco” and “Algo”, for which she received the “Revelation Award” from the prestigious Festival of Jerez, 2009, with public and critical acclaim. She was a soloist in Carlos Saura’s “Flamenco Hoy”, guest artist in “Flamenco XXI” and “Sonatas” with the Estévez-Paños flamenco company and was also guest artist in “Seis Cuerdas para Dos Tacones” by the guitarist and composer Juan Antonio Suárez “Cano”.

In 2010 she rounded off the tour of her show “Algo” presenting it in the prestigious Bienial of Seville in the Central Theatre. In 2011 premiered the flamenco recital “Hecho a Mano” in the Corral del Carbón of Granada. In 2012 she premiered the show “Raíces y Alas” in Santiago de Chile with a corps of local artists. The same year she worked as choreographer alongside Javier Latorre in the Chinese production of “Quijote, al Compás de un Sueño”, which premiered in the Coliseum Theatre in Gran Vía, Madrid.

Friday, 10/20 at TWDC (Studio 2) – Adv Beginner: 6 to 7 pm; Technique: 7 to 8 pm; Intermediate: 8 to 9 pm

Saturday, 10/21 & Sunday, 10/22 at DC (Studio 7 & 1, respectively) – Adv Beginner: 2 to 3 pm; Technique: 3 to 4 pm; Intermediate: 4 to 5 pm
