The Guadalupe Quarry Redevelopment Project Team is hosting an 'Advanced Manufacturing 101' webinar on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The event is open to the public and all are invited to attend, where third-party experts will provide information about advanced manufacturing.

Looking to give back to your community but not sure where to start? Come to City Hall on Oct. 18th from 10 AM - noon and we'll explore the various options together! Yes, it's the same morning as the Lions' Pumpkin Patch in the Park and Fun Run (join for the Patch & BBQ after!); we're hoping to see 20 residents at City Hall ready to do a deep dive into how they can get involved in their community!

Open House at the Library for Lagoon Watershed Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan, Oct. 21
You may have heard that the City of Brisbane applied for and was awarded a Sustainable Transportation Planning Grant from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to begin a hydrological study to assess adaptation strategies to address the Lagoon’s vulnerability to sea level rise. Please join the open house to learn about the Brisbane Lagoon Watershed Sea Level Rise Adaptation Plan (BLP). The BLP will study Brisbane Lagoon’s capacity to handle sea level rise flooding, and will identify strategies to reduce sea level rise impacts. At this event, we’ll share the project’s goals, sea level rise risks, existing conditions, timeline, and future opportunities for public input.

Join the IDEA Committee for a Short-Film Festival, Oct. 25
The IDEA Committee invites you to join them for their second Short-Film Festival, taking place at City Hall in the Community Meeting Room on October 25, from 1:30 PM - 3 PM. The Committee last held a Short-Film Festival in 2023 during United Against Hate Week. The inaugural event was well-received, with about 30 people in attendance. This year, the event will take place on the final day of United Against Hate Week (October 19-25). We look forward to seeing you on October 25th to learn more together as a community. In the meantime, be sure to grab your ticket(s) to this FREE event so we know how much popcorn to pop!

County Health Urges Residents to Follow State Vaccination Guidance
As respiratory virus season approaches, San Mateo County Health follows the vaccination guidance from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for COVID-19, influenza and RSV. Vaccines recommendations are:
- COVID-19: All children 6-23 months; all children 2-18 years with risk factors or who were never vaccinated; all children in close contact with others with risk factors and those who choose to be protected. All adults 65 years or older and 18-64 with risk factors; all adults in close contact with others with risk factors and those who choose to be protected; All women pregnant, planning, postpartum and lactating.
- Influenza: All children 6 months or older; all adults 18 years or older; All women pregnant, planning, postpartum and lactating.
- RSV: All children 8 months or younger; all children 8-19 months with risk factors. All adults 75 years or older and all adults 50-74 years with risk factors All women pregnant between 32-36 weeks gestational age.
To schedule a vaccine appointment, contact your health care provider, local pharmacy or visit myturn.ca.gov.
County Health is working with local community organizations to provide COVID-19 and flu vaccines to residents without insurance. Locations and times will be available soon. Residents may also call County Health's Immunization Program at (650) 573-2877 to learn of vaccination opportunities.

County Emergency Management Seeks Input on Community Needs
San Mateo County Emergency Management is conducting a critical community assessment to better understand residents' emergency preparedness needs, barriers they face, and how we can enhance support before, during, and after disasters.
The data collected will directly inform resource allocation, policy updates, and emergency planning decisions. Take the survey (available in English, Spanish, and Chinese).

SSMC is now accepting nominations for:
- Three Sustainability Awards
- One Youth Sustainability Award (Youth grades 5-12)
- One Green Building Award
Nominations are open to individuals, businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community groups. Once nominated, candidates will be invited to complete an application.
