Week 5

English - We finished off writing about adventure stories before moving on to poetry near the end of the week. We are going to write a haiku poem about summer. To start off our learning, we closed our eyes and imagined we were at the beach. Using our 5 senses, we came up with some expanded noun phrases, such as 'the cold, sparkling sea'.

Computing - Our topic in computing this year has been about digital literacy. We linked this to our English work on adventure stories, making a trailer for the book we have been using called 'Quest'. First, we worked with our partners to plan our trailer, thinking about how to persuade our audience to read the book. Then, we used iMovie to create our trailers.

Maths - On Thursday, we started our topic of money in maths. We looked at the different coins and their values and how we can use different coins to make the same value. Next week, we are going to add and subtract money before moving on to word problems.

Raising Readers - On Friday, we had our second session of Raising Readers. We did a carousel of activities which were creating a character, re-designing a front cover, book bingo and then reading our new books!
