Mapplewell Primary School Autumn 2 review

Sheffield Children's Hospital

We are beyond proud to have raised enough money to have a snowflake to represent our efforts for Sheffield Children's Hospital. A huge thank you to all staff and parents, who have made this possible. Supporting such an amazing cause has filled us with pride!

Sporting Success

Every Friday throughout the half term we have taken part in a sporting competition. An amazing opportunity for a wide range of pupils, across many year groups. We have also been continuing to take part in regular football fixtures, including the Boys winning the HCAT tournament! Well done to all who continue to represent Mapplewell!

Remembrance Day

This year we remembered those who gave everything for our freedom. Every pupil contributed to the display and it was lovely to see so many parents come and enjoy the display too. We were so proud to share the display with the residents at Mapplewell Manor who received it so warmly.

Amazing Music

This year we have been totally inspired by lots more music going on at Mapplewell! We have been so lucky to work alongside Mat Wright and Barnsley Youth Choir to host a drumming workshop as well as singing with Mat too! We have seen pupils join up to Barnsley Youth Choir and would love to see even more pupils join in such an incredible choir!

MacMillan Coffee Morning

A massive thank you for all parents who contributed to us raising money for a brilliant cause. Thank you to Miss Clayton and Mrs.Clarke for going above and beyond as always!

BBC 500 words writing competition

This year we entered the BBC 500 words competition and Mr.Hart chose winners from KS1, LKS2 and UKS2 - well done to all who took part! We have heard that pupils have made it through further rounds and are eagerly waiting to see how far they can go!

Class Newsletters

There has been so much going on this half term, especially with all the festivities for Christmas - please see below links that will take you to each class individual newsletter for much more information!

A final word from Mr.Garrood

Leading this school through Autumn term has been the proudest moment of my career. I would just like to thank every single staff member for their incredibly hard work throughout the term. I would particularly like to thank the families of Mapplewell for continuing to support the school and making it a truly special community to be a part of.
