Medefy

Our mission: Make healthcare accessible for everyone. We believe healthcare is too often overwhelming, complicated, and impersonal. That's why Medefy’s mission is to make it easier for everyone to access, understand, and use their health benefits. We’re committed to providing straightforward answers and expert guidance to everyone.

We’re about connection. We help people understand their benefits in real-time to make a meaningful impact on their daily lives.

Your benefits are an important part of your overall compensation. Flintco is offering a comprehensive array of valuable benefits to protect your health, your family and your way of life. This site answers some of the basic questions you may have about your benefits, including:

Who is eligible to enroll in Flintco Health Benefits and when? (Elections made during Open Enrollment are effective June 1st to May 31st each year.)

You are eligible for benefits if you work 30 or more hours per week. You may also enroll your eligible family members under certain plans you choose for yourself. Eligible family members include:

  • Your spouse
  • Your children who are your biological children, stepchildren, adopted children or children for whom you have legal custody (age restrictions may apply). Disabled children age 26 or older who meet certain criteria may continue on your health coverage.

Choose Carefully!

Because of IRS Section 125 (Cafeteria Plans) regulations, you cannot change your elections until the next annual Open Enrollment period, unless you have a qualified life event during the year. Following are examples of the most common qualified life events:

  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Child reaching the maximum age limit
  • Death of a spouse or child
  • Change in child custody
  • Change in coverage election made during your spouse's Open Enrollment period
  • You lose coverage under your spouse's plan

Medical

We are proud to offer you a choice of three medical plans that provide comprehensive medical and prescription drug coverage. The plans also offer many resources and tools to help you maintain a healthy lifestyle.

  • Club Plan: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
  • Spade Plan: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO
  • Diamond Plan: Blue Cross Blue Shield

Choose the Right Medical Plan for You

The Club Plan and the Spade Plan are traditional PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans with co-payments for doctor visits, prescription medications, etc. Each

The Diamond Plan is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a Health Savings Account [HSA] feature.

Note: There are no copays (including pharmacy), which means you pay out-of-pocket for all expenses incurred AND there is no access to zero-out-of-pocket under Kempton Premier Providers, until you have met your deductible.

What is the most noticeable difference between a PPO and an HDHP?

You will have a lower monthly premium and will not need to pay a copay when visiting the doctor or hospital. Instead, your claim is processed through the insurance carrier, and you'll receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) through the mail, followed by an invoice from your provider. You are responsible for every dollar incurred until you reach your deductible, including pharmacy.

Flintco's High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) called the "Diamond Plan" is eligible for a Health Savings Account (HSA). HSAs are tax-advantaged savings accounts that accompany High Deductible Health Plans (HDHPs). These plans offer a way to save money and efficiently pay for medical expenses.

How does it work?

First you must enroll in the Diamond Plan and elect the option to have an HSA account. Then, you will be asked by HSA Bank to set up your HSA account through the HSA Bank online portal, where you can see a record of your contributions, spending, etc. Remember, this is a bank account, so you will be required to provide your ID in order set up your HSA account in compliance with The Patriot Act. Once your account has been established, you will receive a debit card to use for your qualified medical expenses.

For more information about the Diamond Plan works with the Health Savings Account (HSA), click the links below.

If you enroll in and contribute to an HSA account, Flintco will automatically contribute up to $520 to your account for plan year 2025-2026.

How much does the IRS allow me to contribute to my HSA?

For 2025, you may contribute up to $4,300 per individual and $8,550 per family to cover qualified health care expenses incurred by you, your spouse and your children up to age 26. If you are age 55 or over, you may contribute an additional $1,000. NOTE - These amounts include any employer contribution. Flintco contributes up to $520 per year, so you must subtract that amount from the maximum and that will be your maximum contribution.
