Hi, I'm Mallaury — filmmaker and founder of Default Mode. Whether you're an artist, a brand or an independent, if you have a story worth telling, I'd love to be part of it. But let me tell you a little about where this all comes from. I've always been someone who documents. Long before I had a camera in hand professionally, I was filming my life, cutting small edits together — just for the love of it. That curiosity never left. A curiosity shaped since childhood, watching channels about history, science, nature — and later, all kinds of documentaries, artist interviews, behind the scenes videos. I developed an instinct for what's real, for the stories that already exist and deserve to be seen. Before Default Mode, I spent several years behind the scenes working with artists, managing projects from start to finish. Without always having the budget to bring someone in, I started handling the visuals myself — first album covers, then music videos, then content for social media. One thing led to another. Things accelerated when I joined a marketing startup as a project manager. There I learned to organise shoots for major companies, deepen my skills in video editing and graphic design, and run a full production. That experience gave me the tools and the confidence — and made it clear that it was time to take the leap. Default Mode was born from the desire to build something entirely my own. It started with Default Choices, an interview series with creators and independents — then expanded further: shows about sports, artist interviews, podcasts and more. The project grows, evolves, and stays true to its mission: documenting the people who are creating, building and shaping culture.
