ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Jack McDonald, and I've been working in this industry for over 3 years, primarily on 3D animation and video editing. I've directed and worked on a few short films, as well as client projects. I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2026 with a degree in Digital Storytelling, Information Technology, and Business. LEAVING FOR A LONG TIME
Leaving for a Long Time is a music video I am currently Directing and Animating. Below is some work-in-progress videos/images. Through this project I was in charge of hiring a team of animators and giving them weekly tasks, as well as working alongside them.
The short follows a couple living on an asteroid mining colony, and their evil corporate overlords, in a stop-motion/miniature (style), sci-fi environment. I hope to have this out by the end of May.
THE MOTHMAN
THE MOTHMAN is another animated short film I am working on and plan to release later this year. This follows a detective investigating a seemingly supernatural murder, and his interviews with the witnesses.
This film taught me a lot about 3D animation. I learned facial motion capture, styleizde compositing, and lots of other new tools that are required for high-quality animation
