Reporting Student Absences

Parents can report their student's absences by calling the Riffenburgh Attendance Line 970-488-7936 or via ParentVUE (see instructions below)

Reporting Absences Thru ParentVUE

Why Use ParentVUE for Absences

If a student is not attending school for the day or series of days, the parent has the ability to document this absence in ParentVUE instead of making a call and leaving a voicemail to the attendance clerk.

How to Enter an Absence

• Log in to ParentVUE

• Click on “Report Absences” (listed on the left side panel)

• Mark either ‘E for Excused’ or ‘EI for Excused Illness’. You can submit the attendance for a single date or a range of dates by clicking on each day. (Future absences are not visible in PVUE until the date of the absence.)

• Please leave comment in the note section, explaining the absence.

• Click Save

Please let the Attendance Office know about ALL absences even if you have alerted the Classroom Teacher.

Volunteering at Riffenburgh

If you plan on Volunteering at Riffenburgh, you must register or check that your status is current with Poudre School District (PSD) thru the following portal (renewals are every 3 years) before you come to school.

** Please remember to bring a Government Issued Identification (Driver’s License) (DIGITAL IDs are not accepted) to school when you check in in as a Visitor or Volunteer. This is a requirement for the Check In process. **

Classroom Treats

If it is necessary to have food in classrooms during school hours (i.e. birthday snack, holidays, special occasions, school events, etc.), only commercially prepared foods and packaged foods from retail stores should be served. As always, please contact your child's teacher prior to sending food or treats in.

News from Child Nutrition

We are excited to share that all students will receive one free breakfast and lunch daily starting in 2023-24 through the Healthy School Meals for All program! This new statewide program, approved by Colorado voters, is helping Colorado children and teens have access to nutritious food at our school.

Biometric Scanning Information

Starting in the 2023-24 school year, students at all Poudre School District schools will check out of the cafeteria line with a quick tap of a finger. After a biometric scanning system reduced line wait times as part of a spring pilot program, PSD is installing the system in all schools. The system should be up and running first in all schools that participated in the spring pilot program (Dunn and Linton elementary schools, Kinard Middle School, and Rocky Mountain High School) and all elementary schools by about October. It will be installed in secondary schools thereafter. Families have the option to opt their student out of using this system.
