Week 3
It has been another action packed week this week. Owls and Squirrels class visited the River Avon as part of their geography learning, Fieldmice & Rabbits' went Blackberry picking and Foxes visited the "Tiny" Forest. We would like to thank our parent volunteers for helping out. Thank you also to all the parents who came to our Early Years meeting with Mrs McCartney.
It is great to see children throughout the school looking so smart in their uniforms. Red jumpers and cardigans without logos are absolutely fine and children should wear all black shoes or trainers. If your child has their ears pierced please make sure that they only wear stud earrings into school. This is for health and safety reasons. Finally please make sure all items of clothing, bags and shoes are labelled. We acquire huge amounts of lost property and without a name it is almost impossible to reunite many items with their owners!
With the weather being so changeable please now ensure your child is bringing a coat into school. We are often outdoors and so children always need to have their waterproof coat to hand.
We're are pleased to say that we have now appointed a new grounds maintenance company. You may have noticed some areas becoming increasingly overgrown in recent weeks and months. Our new company started work this week and will be working hard to make sure our site is maintained to a really high standard throughout the year.

Macmillan Coffee Morning
On Thursday after School Drop Off, we will be holding a Coffee morning in aid of Macmillan. Everyone is welcome to join us in the Bungalow from 8.50am onwards.

The photographers will be in school on Monday 9th October in the morning. They will be taking individual and school age sibling photos. If you do not wish your child's photo to be taken, please let the school office know.
HelloYellow - World Mental Health Day
Tuesday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and we will be taking part in HelloYellow by holding a "Non Uniform" day . Dig out your brightest #HelloYellow outfit. Whether you choose a splash of yellow or cover yourself head to toe in yellow – it all counts!
We can all struggle with how we’re feeling, but sometimes things get tough and it can be difficult to cope. For so many young people, when this happens, they don’t get the help they need, when they need it. But together, we can change this.
By wearing yellow this World Mental Health Day on 10 October, and donating what you can, you can show young people that you’re with them. Show them that they matter and deserve the support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

Annual Nasal Flu Vaccination Consent
Your child’s flu vaccination is now due.
This vaccination is recommended to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and can cause serious complications. Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable family and friends by preventing the spread of flu.

Please ensure you complete your child’s consent 48 working hours before your school session to ensure your child receives their vaccination.

The vaccination is free and is a quick, simple and painless spray up the nose. Even if your child had the vaccine last year, the type of flu can vary each winter, so it is recommended to have it again this year or they won’t be protected.
A leaflet explaining the vaccination programme for primary aged children can be accessed hereand includes details about the small number of children for whom the nasal vaccine is not appropriate. The nasal spray vaccine contains a very small amount of purified porcinegelatine as an essential ingredient to keep it stable and able to work. For those who may not accept medicines or vaccines that contain porcine gelatine,a flu vaccine injection is available. Since the programme was introduced, most children offered the vaccine in schools have had the immunisation.
