Colgate Seminar
Colgate Seminar has wrapped for another year. The mission of the High School Seminar Program is to introduce area high school students to college-level topics that are not available at their schools and to encourage college attendance by giving them a taste of life on a college campus. Students in grades 9-12 have attended four, 3 night sessions through out the year. Each session has six seminar offerings. Seminars this year included health and wellness, relationship building, leadership, poetry, music theory, meditation and mindfulness, acting, dance, story telling, writing, museum studies and more. The seminars are an hour and half each night with a dinner break in the Frank Dining Hall. Students enjoy being on campus, making new friends from other schools, finding new foods to try from other cultures in the dining hall, and having an opportunity try something new. Students are already looking forward to next year and trying to guess what seminars will be offered.
