Adobe Missions Pair Editing | Object Position and Replacement

Deadline: November 24, 2025 at 6:00 PM CET

Mission: Create photo pairs that highlight a distinct change from the first shot to the second, with the rest of the scene exactly the same. This brief covers two topics: object position change (Topic 1) and object replacement (Topic 2). In order for a Mission to be accepted, metadata requirements must be entered correctly and in English. AI-generated images are not permitted.

Definitions:

  • Pair = 1 scene
  • Scene = 2 shots
  • Dataset = all scenes in the submission (as defined in requirements below)
Requirements:
  • Topic 1: Object position change: 28 scenes (56 shots)
  • Topic 2: Object replacement: 28 scenes (56 shots)
  • Submission requirement and limit: 1 dataset = 56 scenes = 112 shots
  • 50% of shots must be taken outdoors
  • Variation: each SCENE must be unique and show a different environment, object, and a change in lighting, angle, or framing. Within a pair, do not change the background, fixed objects, and lighting
  • Approved submissions include all of the following: different objects, several distinct settings, varied angles, good lighting, accurate metadata, and complete releases

Shoot Instructions

Create a Scene:
  • Object Quantity: 1 (Topic 1), 2 (Topic 2)
  • Object use: use different objects for each scene.
  • Location: 50% of shots must be taken outdoors.
  • Environment & Setting: Use authentic indoor, outdoor, or public environments. Avoid studio-like setups, plain solid surfaces, cluttered rooms, and blank or nondescript spaces. Keep the background, fixed objects, and lighting unchanged within a pair.
  • When shooting outdoors or in public places, watch for changes in cloud cover, lighting, vehicles, or people in the environment, as these must remain consistent between shots.
  • Lighting: Use natural or artificial light and ensure that it is consistent across all shots. It is essential to vary lighting between scenes.
  • Camera: Stationary. The camera should remain in the same position throughout each scene.
  • Orientation/Aspect ratio: Use the same orientation (horizontal or vertical) and aspect ratio for all photos in a sequence.
  • Viewpoint & Angles: Use a different camera angle (high, eye level, low) or viewpoint (front, side, diagonal) for each new scene.
  • Depth of Field & Focus: Use a high f-stop so that the object and the overall scene remain sharp and in focus.

Topic 1: Object position change pairs

Create 28 image pairs that show a single object moved from one position in a fixed environment to another. The environment, lighting, and all other details must remain unchanged. Each pair is considered one scene. From scene to scene, different objects and vary lighting, angle, and viewpoint.

  • Shot 1: Photograph the object in the first position.
  • Shot 2: Photograph the same object after moving it to a different position within the scene.

Topic 2: Object replacement pairs

Create 28 image pairs where one object is replaced with another in the exact same scene. Requires two objects per scene. Each pair is considered one scene.

  • Shot 1: Photograph the first object in the scene.
  • Shot 2: Photograph the second object in the exact same spot, matching the first object’s placement, while keeping the environment and framing (background, lighting, camera angle) completely unchanged.

Metadata

In order for a submission to be accepted, Metadata must be entered correctly and in English. Follow these guidelines to name each image title consistently and accurately when uploading your submissions. Use the title instructions in this brief.
