I am Lillian Guthe, from Fort Mill, SC. I am a college student at Appalachian State University and a Young Life leader at Watauga High School!

How did you hear about Beyond? I heard about Beyond in high school through friends and leaders and heard more about it through one of my college friends and her experience.
What are you looking forward to this summer? This summer I am looking forward to being challenged and refined, being in creation, serving, new friendships, sharing the gospel in a unique way, and seeing what God does through the Beyond community.
How are you hoping to grow this summer? I hope to grow in my intimacy with God through reflection, solitude, guiding trips, and learning from those around me.
What else should sponsors know about you? Young Life has had a huge impact on my relationship with Jesus and my life. Through leaders, friends, and even strangers I have been relentlessly pursued by them, invited into communities of people that have greatly shaped me, and shown what it looks like to love like Jesus, live like Him, and walk with Him. Serving has been a way that God has revealed his faithfulness to me, really challenged and refined me, and something that He keeps calling me back to and I am so excited.
What expenses are you fundraising to cover? I am fundraising to cover 3 roundtrip plane tickets: 2 for trainings across the country in April and early May and 1 for getting to Canada officially for the entire summer in late May. I am also fundraising for gear that I will need to do my job this summer and next summer! Some of these include: a PFD, specific clothing items needed while on the water like water resistant shorts, sun hoodies, shirts etc., dry bags, whistles, merino wool items, other necessary gear, and all miscellaneous items I will need to last me the whole summer since it is so remote! My fundraising goal is $3,900.
