Lone Mountain Eagle Eye August 18, 2023

Lone Mountain Families,

What a wonderful 2nd week of school at Lone Mountain! I have loved getting to know your children and it was great to have had the opportunity to meet some of you at our 6th grade parent meeting and PTO meeting this past week. Our students have begun to settle into their learning routines and are continuing to SOAR!

I am so excited for our 2023-2024 school year and am grateful for this opportunity to return to the Cave Creek School District as your Principal of Lone Mountain Elementary! If you would like to know any additional information, my bio is linked to our website: https://www.ccusd93.org/domain/306

Respectfully, Shelly Richardson

"SOAR" EXPECTATIONS AT LONE MOUNTAIN

This year we continue with our positive behavior interventions and "SOAR" expectations for students to follow in the classroom and around campus. The acronym SOAR stands for Safety, Ownership for your actions/words, Attitude, and Respect. These are character traits that we talk about daily within the classrooms and around campus. When these specific traits are shown staff members can give each student a SOAR card that they label with their name and then drop into a raffle for a weekly prize drawing.

We celebrated our SOAR winners this week and all SOAR card winners were able to pick a small prize from our SOAR store. If you are interested in supporting our SOAR store and donating here is the link. We appreciate any and all donations. https://lmeseagles.com/soar

STUDENT ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES FOR LONE MOUNTAIN

As a reminder there are two ways for students to arrive and dismiss from campus. These two ways are car drive up and buses. There is not a walk up option for families here at Lone Mountain. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to refine our pickup and drop off procedures

For our families utilizing drive up here are some helpful reminders for a smooth drop off and pick up experience.

  • Line up single file on Montgomery Road.
  • Do NOT enter the front driveway until 8:40 AM or 3:25 PM.
  • Our preschool and PALS students dismiss earlier than other classrooms and they are allowed to pull into the parking before 3:25. This allows our youngest students and our students requiring extra assistance time to safely get into their vehicles and exit campus.
  • Pull up to a colored cone. Stay in order. Wait for your child. We will unload and load 10 cars at a time. Please do not get out of the car.
  • If your child needs assistance buckling their car seat please pull forward and up past the red cone so that you can assist your child and we can keep the car line moving.
  • Please do not pass other drivers or cut them in line.
  • If your child is not ready at dismissal, we will ask you to park and we will bring them out when ready.

Please remember that you can not park in the cul-de-sac and drop off children or park your car on the side of Montgomery Road. With our LMES car lane, buses, YMCA, Tutor Time van, and vehicle traffic to the nearby neighborhoods all sharing Montgomery Road it not safe to be dropping off children or parking along the side of the road. Student safety is our number one concern and the two ways for children to arrive and dismiss at LMES are car drive up and buses. Thank you for your understanding and help with this.

BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR THE 23-24 YEAR

  • Parents, please make sure you have updated your student information in PowerSchool and select YES for the bus.
  • Once you have done this you can go to the CCUSD webpage and go to the Transportation page to look up the bus routes that service your child’s school. Some of the routes and stops have changed so please double check them.
  • Transportation has decided to pursue a different routing software that is more compatible with Powerschool. In their pursuit to bring the most effective routing tools to our District they will be rolling out a new software soon. Please delete the Edulog app from your smart devices in the meantime.
  • If you still have questions after checking our website regarding anything bus related please reach out to the Transportation Dept. at 480-575-2080.
