Come help out at the Back to school barbecue and school spirit dance
Back to school Barbecue
- Come eat hot dogs at the first annual Back to School Barbecue. Come join the 100+ people that have RSVPed for the first annual Back to School Barbecue. Click the button below (before Monday, September 11) to let us know you're coming. Parents, students and teachers are invited to this free event. Click on the button below to RSVP.
- Come join the barbecue crew. We need ten more people to help serve food or drinks at the Back to School Barbecue. (Thank you so much to the ten people that have already volunteered!) Just indicate on your sign up how long you're available between 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. This is a great way to meet other parents and interact with the students. Click on the button below to volunteer.
- Sign up to bring cookies for the barbecue. We are serving free hot dogs, veggie dogs, chips, drinks and cookies at the barbecue. We're asking for 25 volunteers to each bring 3 dozen cookies to serve at the event. (And yes, store-bought cookies are great.) Thank you so much to the people who have already signed up! You can bring the cookies with you to the event, or send them with your student/drop them off at school, labeled "For the Barbecue," by 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13. Click on the button below to sign up.
School Spirit Dance
- Be a chaperone. AVID is asking for 15 chaperones between 5:20 - 7:00 p.m. at the dance on Thursday, 9/13. Maybe your kid pretends to be mortified at this idea, but having parent volunteers makes it a much better experience for the students and teachers. Recruit a friend and come together! Click the button below to sign up.
- Bring snacks for the dance. If chaperoning doesn't work for your schedule, you can still upgrade the School Spirit Dance experience for the students and teachers by bringing store-bought cookies, snacks or drinks. These can be delivered to school, labeled "For the Dance," by 2:30 on Wednesday, 9/13. Click the button below to sign up.
- Remember your student can buy a ticket at the door or you can click here to buy a dance pass for $12 at the Viking Webstore. This will be a sticker added to your student's Activity Card.
we're off to a great start with the little give!
Thank you for supporting the little give! 43 donors have pitched in to help us raise $1,763 towards our goal of raising $5,500 by the end of September! This money will be used to fund teacher appreciation, grants for student clubs, volunteer appreciation and parent social nights during the fall semester. If you haven't given yet, you can scan the QR code or click on the link below. If you have donated (thank you!), you can help again by spreading the word. Please consider giving $5, $10, $20 or $25. Every dollar counts! Thank you so much for your support.
Activity Highlights
We need your help to cover student activities. We can't cover an activity if we don't get updates! Please send us your photos!
- 7th Tennis - Last Friday, the Viking 7th grade tennis team got off to a great start at West, winning their first match 16-6. Great serving was key to the victory as well as many miraculous shots. This week the 7th grade white squad defeated South 14-4. Some great net play and consistent serving by the Vikings dominated the South Bobcats. PLAY NORTH TENNIS!

- 8th/9th Girls Volleyball - The 8th grade girls varsity team beat Les Bois on Friday, and continued their winning streak by defeating East on Wednesday. They also defeated the South Bobcats in this week's game. The scores were 25-22 and 25-10. The 9th grade girls are still undefeated as well, beating South in two sets yesterday.
