Practical Life

A new month brings changes in the Practical Life area. New this month - a "zen" garden. The children were told the rocks represent islands or mountains, the sand represents water. Raking the sand creates "ripples" in the sea

Geography

The continent of Africa was presented. Some facts discussed: it has 54 countries, the longest river- Nile flows through it, largest hot desert - Sahara is found there, it's divided into 5 regions, north. south, east, west and central, it is the hottest continent. We also discussed the shape of Africa resembles the African elephants ear. African elephant ears are larger than Asian elephants.

Science

Another group of vertebrates was presented - reptiles. The vertebrate we focused on was the turtle. Characteristics of reptiles are: they are vertebrates, hatch from eggs, are cold blooded, have dry scaly skin, breathe air.

We had 2 birthday celebrations - Anita Kiani and Julieta Bejarano. Both girls took 5 Walks Around the Sun. Happy 5th Year of Life, Anita AND Julieta!!
