DIGILAB: Digital Literacy for a New Generation

DIGILAB SHOWCASE: Voices, Ideas and Digital Skills Across Europe

ABOUT THE PROJECT

DigiLab is an interdisciplinary eTwinning project aimed at developing students’ digital, artistic, language, and communication skills through creative activities and the practical use of artificial intelligence (AI) and accessible web 2 digital tools.
The project brings together students from primary and subject-based education, including music schools, in the co-creation of digital content such as jingles, videos, digital time capsules, and mini-webinars. It encourages collaborative learning, responsible technology use, and self-expression through music, art, and language, helping students become active and informed digital citizens.
Collaboration and teamwork were at the core of the DigiLab eTwinning project.
Partner schools worked together in international mixed teams where pupils communicated, exchanged ideas and created shared digital products through various project activities.

🎶The Sound Signature of DigiLab

In the first activity 🎶The Sound Signature of DigiLab pupils collaborated and explored digital creativity through sound and multimedia expression. One group composed music, while the other wrote lyrics. Communication took place via TwinSpace forums. Final jingles were produced jointly and included in the Sound Signature of DigiLab collection.

🎄e-Christmas

In the second project activity, 🎄e-Christmas (Celebrating Christmas in our Schools), students connected with their international partners through the lens of Christmas and New Year traditions, highlighting the unique ways different schools celebrate these festive days. Participating in the creation of a collaborative presentation proved to be a highly engaging and rewarding experience. The final presentation brought together photographs and video recordings of various school activities, including Christmas concerts, student-designed posters, and event invitations. Following the presentation, interaction moved to the TwinSpace forum for student reflections and feedback. Students, found it fascinating to compare holiday traditions, noting that while the activities shared many similarities, each school brought a unique cultural touch.

🧯Safer Internet Day 2026

On the occasion of Safer Internet Day 2026, our international student community joined forces to promote digital safety, media literacy, and responsible internet use. Through dynamic collaboration, pupils from all partner schools shared professional advice, analyzed online risks, and co-created a joint interactive manual for navigating the digital world safely.

🤖 Code Week in our Schools: Integration of eSafety and Partner Interaction

The Code Week 2025 activity was successfully implemented as part of the DigiLab eTwinning project, aimed at developing computational thinking, coding, and the practical application of artificial intelligence (AI) across three levels of complexity, based on the students' age. The activity was directly integrated into the school curricula, with a strong emphasis on eSafety protocols. Prior to creating any content, students received guidance on the safe, responsible, and ethical use of web 2.0 tools and generative artificial intelligence (AI). The core element of international collaboration was achieved through the mutual sharing and testing of these student-made materials. Partners provided access links to their work, allowing all participants to engage with, try out, and play the created games or educational content, thereby fostering active interaction within a secure digital environment.

🎥 Little Digital Teachers

Visual for our TikTok was made by students of B ARSAKEIO TOSITSEIO JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN EKALI, GREECE

As part of the "Little digital teachers" activity, students produced short educational videos for the project's official TikTok channel, which also served as a platform for the musical jingles created throughout the project. The account was managed by an international student administration team from Croatia, Turkey, and Bosnia and Herzegovina under teacher supervision. Using a WhatsApp group for rapid communication, team members, effectively coordinated and scheduled the posts. In their educational videos, students, shared valuable insights on how to utilize various AI and web tools for digital content creation, recording, and online presentation. The channel became a huge hit, and you are warmly invited to scan the code, follow our profile, and join these young digital teachers on their creative journey!

⏰️A digital time capsule

In this visionary activity, students explored their future aspirations through creative writing, depending on their age. Using AI tools they transformed their ideas into stunning digital artwork. Through international teamwork, partner schools exchanged texts so that each team created the visuals for another peer's story. All works were collected into a collaborative Genially digital time capsule titled "Voice of the Present, Look into the Future." In the final phase, students reviewed the collections and left comments for their international partners, while the main reflection and evaluation of the entire experience took place via Mentimeter.

🤖 AI assistant - Who is the better taecher?

🧠AI Assistant Research: Digital Detectives in the World of AI

In this activity, students stepped into the shoes of digital researchers with the goal of deeply understanding and critically analyzing the world of artificial intelligence. Instead of just passively using technology, their task was to discover exactly what AI assistants are, how they function, and what their actual advantages and limitations are. We successfully integrated this activity across almost every school subject, from computer science and languages to media literacy and music, encouraging students to use modern tools in a responsible and ethical way.

Our Shared Knowledge Base

To turn our research into something practical for everyone, all partner schools joined forces to curate an organized, comprehensive database. Through this hands-on journey, students didn't just sharpen their digital and research skills; they learned the most valuable lesson for the future: how to navigate the evolving world of AI smartly, critically, and responsibly!
