Carroll 4 Homestead 2

Tuesday, May 12

Junior righthander Aiden Stephen got the nod to start and he did not disappoint. Stephan pitched a complete game picking up the win. Stephan was in control much of the game limiting the Spartan offense to just 5 hits while striking out 12 and walking only one.

Solid Carroll defense helped the cause and Stephan finished strong and put down the final 7 Homestead hitters in order.

Adler Kellams got the Charger off to a good start with a lead off single and a couple of stolen bases later scored on an Eli Neuhouser single to put the Chargers up 1 - 0. The Charger offense threatened early to break the game open during the first two innings leaving the bases loaded but a few nice defensive plays by the Spartans kept things close.

Kellams was not done after the first. Adler led the way offensively going 3 for 3 with 3 rbi's with a double and triple. The Chargers were able to keep the pressure on the Spartan defense with a few succesful bunts and good baserunning allowing the Charger runners move up and keep the pressure on the Spartans.

The Chargers even the series one game apiece and will quickly turn to game 3 of the series on Thursday when Carroll travels to Homestead for the rubber match.

Overall a great night of high school baseball and a really well played competitive game by both teams. We thank the TinCaps, TinCaps grounds crew and Parkview Field for allowing the night to happen. Great experience for our kids and a great night for high school baseball!
