Osprey and Trout

ARTIST: Paul Albright

Price $7,500

Personal Statement

  • Art is an act of gratitude for being alive.

Sculpture Statement

  • My sculpture "osprey and trout" is a metal kinetic depiction of bird and fish flying over or from an upside down tree branch. The fiberglass colored leaves are semi-functional to hold a beverage or enough water for small birds to drink from. The wings move independently from each other and connect to the main body. The fish is attached to the legs/talons of the osprey and they rotate together _ then sleeve/rotate through to the branch/base. The direction/ intention or intrigue for me was; combining opposing forces in a symbolic and structural way (life and death - gravity and balancing).
