Mission
Resist is a foundation that supports people's movements for justice and liberation. We redistribute resources back to frontline communities at the forefront of change while amplifying their stories of building a better world.
Our Work
For 57 years, Resist has supported thousands of groups working on the frontlines for Indigenous sovereignty, racial justice, gender equality, LGBTQ+ freedom, immigrants’ rights, economic and environmental justice. Movements for social change have transformed since Resist’s founding, and Resist continues to transform with them. Today, we fund progressive organizations that are resisting, re-imagining, healing, and transforming towards the world we want to see.
This Giving Guide
At resist, we have been deeply affected by the unconscionable violence in Palestine, the Congo and Sudan; funded by our tax dollars. Israel’s genocidal campaign continues in Gaza. The numbers are growing daily: more than 30,000 Palestinians killed, of which, 13,000 are children, over 70,000 have been injured, an estimated 10,000 are trapped underneath the rubble of buildings and presumed dead, and millions are starving, dehydrated, and dying of disease.
As we bear witness to these cataclysms, we continue our work in service of our amazing grantees responding not only to this genocide, but who show up every single day for their communities. Our struggles for liberation are inextricably linked and singular.
This moment demands our attention and every possible tactic that we have at our disposal. Movements for justice don't just need resources, they need you. Our Palestine Solidarity Giving Guide is here to directly connect you with Resist grantees, solidarity groups, and families directly impacted in Gaza trying to evacuate to safety. Download the guide today, share it widely with your community, and consider getting involved, because it's going to take all of us to change the world for the better.

“Truth is, this moment should break us all down and rip us apart. No, it shouldn’t force us into nihilism — although the gravity of the last [hundreds of] days are easily remedied by falling into despair — but it should force us to fundamentally change, to understand and walk through the world entirely differently…Normalize nothing. Demand everything.” —Nicki Kattoura, Resist Staff Collective Member
Support Families in Gaza
Instead of starting this giving guide with a list of Resist grantees you can support, first consider donating directly to families in and out of Gaza desperately trying to evacuate their families to safety.
Click here for a master list of over 800 families in dire need of your direct support. This effort is being spearheaded by a collective of organizations under "Operation Olive Branch" and the list is updated frequently.
Please share this mutual aid effort widely and donate what you can.

Support Resist Grantees
As we bear witness to U.S.-backed wars and genocide, our courageous grantees are on the frontlines responding to this genocide by showing up for their communities and letting our government and political leaders know they are standing on the wrong side of history.
Below you’ll find a list of Resist grantees that are Palestinian-led or doing Palestine solidarity work. They are the blueprint of the radical and critical work happening on the ground across the country and they deserve your support.
* Al-Awda NY: Works to develop and strengthen links and coordinate efforts with human and civil rights organizations in support of the Palestinian struggle for return, freedom and equality. They empower Palestinian refugees with projects that nurture their autonomy and determination to exercise their legal rights, first and foremost their natural right to return to their towns and villages, as supported by international law and United Nations’ resolutions.
* Eyewitness Palestine: A transformational education program that inspires and trains participants to be accountable lifelong social justice advocates in the Palestine solidarity movement and within their own communities.
* Handala Coalition: A coalition of local Palestinian and Palestinian ally organizations in Michigan, struggling together for the liberation of all peoples. Since 2020, they have organized protests, annual student youth retreats, mutual aid efforts, various workshops, art based demonstrations and much more.
* Muslim Justice League (MJL): MJL's mission is to organize and advocate for communities whose rights are threatened under the national security state in the United States. Led by Muslims, our organizing brings justice for ALL communities deemed “suspect." MJL was founded on the principles that discrimination towards any group endangers the rights of all and that Muslim advocacy is an essential force for promoting justice.
* National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP):National Students for Justice in Palestine supports over three hundred Palestine solidarity organizations on college campuses across occupied Turtle Island (U.S. and Canada). They promote an agenda grounded in freedom, solidarity, equality, safety, and historical justice, and we seek to elevate the student movement for Palestinian liberation to a higher level of political engagement. They aim to develop a connected, disciplined movement that is equipped with the tools necessary to contribute to the fight for Palestinian liberation.
* Palestinian Feminist Collective: The PFC is a body of Palestinian and Arab feminists committed to Palestinian social and political liberation by confronting systemic gendered, sexual, and colonial violence, oppression, and dispossession.
* Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM): PYM is a transnational, independent, grassroots movement of young Palestinians dedicated to the liberation of our homeland and people.
* Philly Palestine Coalition: A Philly-based alliance of Palestinian, Black and Indigenous communities working to uplift Palestinian liberation.
* Within Our Lifetime: WOL is a Palestinian-led community organization that has been building the movement for Palestine in NYC since 2015.

* Arab Resource Organizing Council: They organize to fight for racial and economic justice and the dignity and liberation of our Arab, and Muslim communities.
* Adalah Justice Project: A Palestinian-led advocacy organization based in the U.S. that builds cross-movement coalitions to achieve collective liberation. Our work is rooted in the conviction that drawing the linkages between US policy abroad and repressive state practices at home is crucial to shifting the balance of power.
* Black 4 Palestine: An emerging national network of Black activists committed to supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom, justice, peace and self-determination. They seek to integrate our work around Palestine into the global and domestic struggles for Black liberation and human emancipation.
* Muslims for Just Futures: MJF is a grassroots organization that builds power in Muslim communities through collective care, organizing, advocacy, and movement-building.
* Palestine Legal: Their mission is to bolster the Palestine solidarity movement by challenging efforts to threaten, harass and legally bully activists into silence and inaction.
* US Campaign for Palestinian Rights: USCPR is a political home for all who believe that freedom for the Palestinian people is an integral part of achieving our collective liberation. They provide resources and strategic support to the U.S.-based Palestine solidarity movement, channeling grassroots power into positive change in U.S. policy and public opinion.
* Muslim Alliance for Sexual and Gender Diversity (MASGD): MASGD works to support, empower, and connect LGBTQ+ Muslims.* In their work, they challenge root causes of oppression, including misogyny, racism, capitalism, and xenophobia. They celebrate gender and sexual diversity within Muslim communities and promote an understanding of Islam that is centered on inclusion, justice, and equity.
Support Our Work
Strong grassroots communities are the bedrock of democratic processes and collective change. Today, Resist continues to support frontline activists in building a just and free world, for the next half-century and beyond.
As a grassroots foundation, Resist does not have an endowment, which means we raise money from over 9,000 donors each year. In 2023, we missed funding hundreds of incredible groups doing necessary work during these difficult times because we simply didn't have enough funds. The more people who commit to regular giving, no matter how “small” the amount, the more we can rely on a sustained budget to support our communities in building new futures. Become a Resist Sustainer today!
Please share the work we do with your loved ones! We ask that you ground your family and friends in the work of so many organizations – ones you support – who are making this world more equitable for us all.
