Junior & Senior Leadership Team

Our leadership team has once again demonstrated outstanding dedication this term, raising funds and awareness for important causes while representing our school with pride. On ANZAC Day, our senior leaders honoured the sacrifices of servicemen and women by laying a wreath at the Doyalson RSL Dawn Service. Two of our Senior Leaders, Kirra-lee and Lleyton, also spoke on behalf of our school during the service and were recognised for their impactful speech. The Senior Leaders also assisted Mrs Spencer to run a moving ANZAC assembly at school in early term 2 so LMHS students could show their respect. Lest we forget. In early May, both Junior and Senior leaders hosted the highly successful MAGS (Mothers, Aunties, Grandmothers and Special Friends) Day barbeque breakfast. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen connections within our school community, with an amazing turnout. Thank you to everyone who joined us! We look forward to welcoming DUGS (Dads, Uncles, Grandfathers and Special Friends) for a similar event in Term 3. On Wednesday, 3rd June, our leaders raised over $1,700 for the Leukaemia Foundation through a spirited Crazy Hair Day. Students and staff embraced crazy hairstyles and donated to support vital research and families affected by leukaemia. The event featured a bustling Crazy Hair stall during breaks 1 and 2, and we were inspired by the courage of Year 11’s Teleisha and Oscar, Year 12’s Lleyton and Josh, and Mr. McDonald from the Support Unit, who shaved their heads to raise awareness of cancer treatment experiences. It was truly heartwarming to see such community spirit. Additionally, during a NSW Parliament sitting day, Senior Leaders Sopan and Lleyton had the unique opportunity to meet local MP Yasmin Catley and observe Question Time, as part of the NSW Parliament Secondary Student Leadership Program. They also toured Government House and met Lieutenant-Governor Andrew Bell. This invaluable experience offered insights into leadership and how decision-making impacts communities. Looking ahead to Term 3, we will begin electing our Junior and Senior Leadership Teams for 2027. Students interested in applying or re-applying are encouraged to contact Mrs. Gobor, Mrs. Patterson, or the front office early next term. Our current Year 12 leaders will host their final events and assemblies next term before they embark on their next journey. Their remarkable contributions have left a lasting legacy, setting the bar high for the incoming 2027 team. Thank you to our school community for your ongoing support!
