After the release of her 1st single "Maggoty" last May and a summer festival run with Forest Sound (BE) and Les Lézarts Verts (FR) de Fursac, Aziza brings you the arrival of her second baby "Haouaz Gun" this April 19th, on all streaming platforms.
« Haouaz Gun » is an invitation to set the roar of ancestors free, this one whom memories have been silenced by colonisation. This second single of Aziza reminds a mix of groovy soul, alternative rock, atmospheric sounds, a mix of straight rap and smooth singing... She sings this desire to shine despite colonial memories that have left their mark on the bodies, hearts and memories of many peoples. "Haouaz Gun" invites you to honor this past and embody its own light as a precisous weapon.
Aziza is the eponymous project of the singer/bass player Aziza François. Based in Brussels since her 18th, the belgo-chadian artist was inspired by a lot of different musical genres and artists (soul, hiphop, electro, traditional music etc...). Her music is infused with various influences from her mixed roots and past. She was used to work as a back vocalist/bass player before she started her personal project in 2021. Her solo universe invites you into a soulful universe and intimistic vocal experiment. However the band formula goes more into soul-rock and grunge sonorities.
