Math:
Algebra I: This week in Algebra One, we will wrap up the different forms of linear equations (slope-intercept, point-slope, and standard form). We will transition into arithmetic sequences towards the end of the week. Students will have homework this week that is due on Friday!
Science: It's time to find out the difference between physical and chemical changes as we begin Unit 2. We will immerse ourselves with new vocabulary through doodle notes and reading, explore density, activate our vocabulary words with practice and solve a mystery about bubbles. Unit 1 Test and Test Corrections were completed last week.
ELA: This week in ELA, students will finish reading their in-class novel The Outsiders. We will take a test over the novel on Friday, September 22nd.
Read180: This week students will learn what makes a good summary and will learn how to summarize a text by describing the most important details in their own words and leaving out their opinions. Students will also be writing a formal paragraph about how space archaeologists use satellite imagery to discover historical artifacts.
9th Grade Lit: This week, students will continue their analysis of The Odyssey. We will take a quiz over Part 2 of The OdysseyΒ on Friday, September 22.
Social Studies:
This week in Georgia Studies, students will begin Unit 3: The American Revolution. We will look at the long and short-term causes of the American Revolution, Georgia's involvement in the American Revolution, and the early years of the United States of America.
