Red Nose Day

Lots of fun was had by all in school today for Red Nose Day! Well done to the School Council for arranging the activities for all to enjoy. Well done to Peyton in Year 3 for the winning guess of 134 in the 'How many pompoms in the jar' competition. A very good guess as there were actually 135! Thank you to everyone who played.

Thank you to everyone who has donated so far. If you would still like to make a donation, please do so via by the button below:

Arriving at school - no need to queue

Please can we remind everyone that there is no need to arrive early and queue outside school in a morning. The gates are open for 15 minutes from 8.40 to 8.55am which should allow everyone time to enter comfortably. You may arrive at any time between those times. For the safety and comfort of all, please do not arrive before 8.40am and form a queue.

We ask that older pupils who are not being accompanied by their parents do not come until 8.50am. This will ensure that gates are open and there will not be a queue. Pupils will then be able to come straight into school safely.

One week to go!

This is our last newsletter before the Easter break, but remember there is one more week to go in school. We finish for the Easter break on Friday 27th March. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you a safe and enjoyable two weeks when the time comes. Hopefully we will have some lovely spring sunshine to enjoy. Take care, and we will see everyone back on Monday 13th April.

Science Week

The school was a hive of curiosity during Science Week last week. The children took part in a series of lessons based on a curious theme. Different year groups explored different areas, such as chemistry, coastlines, critters and the cosmos!

Year 6 investigated the best recipes for rocket fuel using effervescent tablets, water and film canisters. They then made mini rockets.
Year 6 also made satellites

Spotlight on Attendance 🔦

Please see below for the attendance figures for the last two weeks. The overall school attendance is still above 95%, so let's try and maintain that. As we get closer to the Easter break, remember that every day in school is important and learning continues right up until the holidays, so make sure they are here!

Here are some reminder of how to support your child:

  • Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
  • Make appointments outside of school hours
  • Use the "When is to ill to ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
  • Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
  • Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.
