Florals

The primary subject of my work over the past 5 years has been... flowers. Those who know me aren't surprised. And those whom I have met more recently may know this before meeting. I can't help it, nature is my muse, it always has been. I have followed this love from creating butterfly gardens to working for wedding florists and farmers.

Black and White

This category does occasionally land itself in my camera roll. But that is really just an editing preference when the mood strikes.

night on the town

Nothing like the glowing lights and pops of purples, reds, and blues when going out on the town, dancing under the stars.

35mm Film

Film photography has become my latest obsession. It's been 17 years since I touched a film camera and I love the challenge of relearning how to use it. I love the thrill of not really knowing what I'm doing, and being detached from the outcome. It is stretching me creatively and allowing me to really hone my skills.

Since May of this year, I've flown through 18 rolls of film. I keep joking with my friends and family that I need to find a way to fund my hobby!

And honestly, I couldn't be happier.

Golden hour

Well...

This is special.

Some of my favorite pieces of work are candids of family and friends. I won't be showing most of them to protect the privacy of my loved ones, but know it's there.

I do like to make the occasional reel. Here is one I made at the end of Spring when working at Balzing Star Farm!

Hi!

Hey y'all! What's good? Thanks for checking out my work!

I love photography for many reasons, but primarily I'm passionate about documenting the world around me. Be it my family and friends, the places I travel to, gardens I've worked in. I find value in preserving those moments. This world is changing so fast, and so much can happen in just a month, a season, or a year. I like tracking change and growth, and I've found my camera is the way to do just that.

Oh, I also have an art business called "Ampelosa Fine Art Dolls". (Don't ask me how I came up with the name; I don't remember, but it's Greek, and it sounds pretty.) I make fairies from dried flowers and lots of glitter. Check it out here: www.ampelosafineartdolls.com

Anyway, thanks for checking out my lil' portfolio! I hope you enjoyed it!
