Dear MSE Families, Spring break is just about here, and we hope your students take this time to rest, recharge, and enjoy some downtime. Most students have been working hard, and this break is a great opportunity to reset before we push toward the finish line together. That said, we want to be clear: our high expectations for academics and behavior don't take a break. Those students who have not worked hard this quarter, this is a chance for them to get caught up. If your student is currently failing one or more classes, we encourage you to use today to sit down with them, review what's missing, and make a plan to get that work turned in before the end of this week. A little effort now can make a significant difference heading into the final stretch of the school year. Please don't hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers — we are here to help. As we return from break, please also be reminded that our behavior expectations remain firmly in place. We are committed to maintaining a safe, positive learning environment for every student, and any behavior that falls short of those standards will be addressed in accordance with the LCPS Code of Conduct. Citizenship grades in Marking Period 3 carry real weight this spring. Students' eligibility for upcoming field trips and spring activities will be determined by whether they meet the minimum qualifications across the following areas: • Citizenship scores in classes • Discipline referrals • Suspensions • Tardies • Cell phone policy compliance Students who do not meet the minimum qualifications in these areas will be placed on probation and will need to demonstrate consistent improvement in order to earn participation in field trips and spring events. We want every student to be there — and we believe every student can get there with the right effort and support. Enjoy your spring break. We'll see you back on April 7 ready to finish strong! --Mr. MacIntosh

Annual Parent Perception Survey

Every year as a part of our Continuous School Improvement, we send out an anonymous perception survey to parents to gather specific feedback on MSE. Every year this survey is used to guide our decisions, look for ways to improve, and identify target areas for staff for the next school year. The survey should take about 5-10 minutes to complete. We ask that every MSE Parent take the survey (families need only to take it once if you have multiple students at MSE). As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! The link to survey can be found here: 2026 MSE Parent Perception Survey
