Harvest 2024

An enormous thank you to everyone who sent in donations for Harvest. We had a mountain of gifts for the Salvation Army to take away this morning. Jason Tasker attended the Y4 Harvest assembly and was extremely grateful for everyone's generosity. Jason spoke to the Y4 children and their parents and carers about the work of the Salvation Army in Newcastle and told us that all of the items donated will be shared with people who don't have safe homes or enough to eat. They send some food to their centres and also make food parcels for the community. Thank you.

Thanks also to the Y4 children for presenting this year's Harvest assembly to the whole school on Wednesday and then today for their parents and carers. They did a fabulous job and we were all very proud. The singing was particularly good this year and there were some new dance moves and actions which kept everyone entertained! Well done Y4!

Sponsored Bounce

Thank you to everyone who helped to make the sponsored bounce a success! It was great fun for all of the children who took part. Some children did an alternative sponsored dog walk too and managed a few laps of the field and a great came of fetch with Maggie!

Once we have a final amount, we will let you know how much we raised.

Poppies

We have some slap bands, fabric wrist bands and some laminated poppies for sale in the office. These are sold to raise money for the Royal British Legion and can be bought by calling in at the main office.

Thank you.

Staffing News

Leo Angus is leaving us today to start his next adventure and we all wish him the very best in his travels! Mr Angus has been with us for almost two years and has built some great relationships with the children and staff. He was also a pupil at Broadway East and so we are very attached to him and will all miss him a lot. Good luck Mr Angus!

Parking Around School

We have received more calls and emails from our neighbours about parking in private bays belonging to residents and parking which is blocking residents' access. We have no control of the areas around school but we ask that everyone shows courtesy and respect for the people in our community. We reply to every call and email as a courtesy and this takes up a lot of time. Please be considerate when parking around school and think of our neighbours.

I have also had two reports from residents of near misses. One resident has reported doing an emergency stop when a child walked in front of their car. It was reported that the parent/carer was looking at their phone and was unaware of this. Please ensure that your child is not in danger around school and please drive very carefully around and on site.

Thank you.

Robinwood

It is that time of year again and the Y4 children are extremely excited to be going on their residential in the first week after half term. Thanks to all of the parents and carers who came to the meeting with Mr Burnett. While the children are away, we will use Twitter/X to communicate and share pictures. If your child does not have permission for Twitter and you want to change this, let us know. We will email with some updates too, but these won't contain pictures.

I hope that everyone has a lovely half term holiday with some time to relax and recharge. It has been a very long half term in school and we think that everyone is ready for a break!

Don't forget that tomorrow is a training day. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 4th November.

Dates List

We have updated the Dates List but there are a couple of changes which we already know have to be made and we are waiting for confirmation of some events. We will therefore share the newest list with you in the first week back at school. Thank you.
