Oracy - This week, we started oracy assemblies with year 4! We sat in a big circle and talked about internet safety before sharing our own ideas. The children were very confident and spoke to well in front of one another!
English - We completed our topic of Fairy Tales this week! We pretended we were the wolf who had been arrested for eating Granny. We wrote our own pleas to say that we were innocent. We loved this topic so much that we are going to share our learning in our class assembly next week!
Maths - Our new topic in maths this week is fractions. We looked at the different parts of a fraction (numerator and denominator) and learned what they represented. We then had a go at shading different fractions of shapes. We also spoke about how the parts must be split equally.
Spanish - This week in Spanish, we labelled different parts of the face! Once we were confident in saying them, we sang heads, shoulders, knees and toes.
Creative Writing - We ended our Friday afternoon with writing in in our creative writing books. Some children made up their own stories, whilst others wrote about their weekend plans. This was a great opportunity to work on our SPaG skills.
P.S.H.E - The topic this week in P.S.H.E was Safety and the Changing Body. We looked at first aid and how to help someone who has been in an accident. The children were brilliant in understanding why they needed to stay calm and reassure the injured person. We also looked at the difference between a bite and a sting and what to do in these situations.
Attendance! - We have celebrated attendance a lot these past few weeks in year 3. We had the best attendance the last two weeks of last half term, so enjoyed our reward on Friday of juice and biscuits and a 20 minute movie.
A lot of us also enjoyed an attendance party for having no absences over a certain amount of weeks!
