Survey
We would like to thank all of you who took the time to reply to the survey. Each team is still filtering through all of the results and valuable comments we received. We appreciate all the positive and negative feedback; we realize that there are moments we could have done better and in 2025 we hope to learn from our mistakes and do better. As mods we recognize we need to work on our transparency and consistency in addressing issues, as well as clearer communication. To those I have not done right by, I would like to apologize and I hope we can all continue to move forward as a community in this new year and work to make this the best version of TNR we can! ~ teni

The Power of the BLACK LIST
By: Aven
In the dead of the night, whilst Seichi were fast asleep, the moon high in the sky, windows slowly starting to collect frost and become foggy from the air, Terr was working hard on putting in a system so that everyone across Seichi could all come together and talk to each other from the comfort of their own villages. An amazing feat that he managed to achieve!
The Global Tavern.
But slowly as time went on, it became clear that not every ninja could get along with each other, and some of their battles evolved past one attacking another if they caught them awake and unguarded, and spilled into the global tavern where they could fight with words instead of actions.
Something had to be done to help keep the peace in Seichi’s newest achievement, and it quickly became obvious what it should be. The Blacklist.
Blacklist you say?! What does it do?
Ever found yourself feeling uncomfortable by a conversation, either in the tavern or even in your DM’s? Someone not passing the vibe check, and giving you the creeps? Don’t like how someone talks? Or you just don’t like someone?
You see that little button in the tavern after the Global, and then your own village? That’s how you can add someone to the blacklist.
By adding someone to your blacklist you won’t be able to see anything that they post anymore, in the taverns, they won’t be able to see your posts either, and they won’t be able to send you DM’s. During any heated discussions it can be really hard to take a step back to help calm yourself and collect your thoughts, but sometimes there’s just people that know exactly how to push your buttons. You can make a report to the moderation team, and they take every harassment report seriously, but sometimes it’s just easier to add someone to the blacklist and then you won’t have to deal with them anymore.
People do not get a notification that you’ve added them to the blacklist, however if you are openly talking in the taverns they will be able to see people that are responding to you, just not your part of the conversation.
It’s a very simple way to improve your TNR experience without having to dodge and avoid other people that might make you feel uncomfortable!
The only people that the blacklist doesn’t work on are the TNR staff teams, this to prevent people from putting the entire staff onto the blacklist in case any issues need to be resolved with that person.
TNR Staff Structure- Who the hells does what?
By: teni
We are still going through the survey results, but one common theme that has been noticed is that the staff structure of TNR is a bit...unclear. So for those unsure, the confidently sure but may be wrong, and everyone else, I'm going to delve into the staff structure of TNR.
Since this is a mod run paper, I'm going to start with surprise...the mods!
MODS TEAM
So what is it the mods actually do?
The mods (or moderators) are the elite forces that work on attempting to keep the peace in Seichi and its various villages, including the discord. They answer basic questions about the game (or pointing you to the appropriate staff member), attempt to quell disagreements in the tavern, and take appropriate action against those that break the rules or ToS of TNR (such as warnings/silences/bans).
What don't mods do?
Mods do not develop content or typically run events in the game. They also do not fix bugs, code, or do any of the technical work for TNR. However mods can help forward bug reports to the appropriate staff member or direct you to the proper channels to do so. As staff mods may be asked by other teams for help or support but they are not responsible for content or events.
Members: Teni (admin), Grammardor (head mod), Mituche, Imperious, Avenger672 (aven), Gage (kamsh1n)
CONTENT TEAM
So what do the content members do?
Content members...create content! But what does that mean? They are responsible for things such as creating jutsu, bloodlines, items, and balance within the game. They help squish the pesky bugs, or work with Terriator to exterminate them where possible. They help determine the direction the game is going towards and make this a fun game for all!
What don't they do?
Content members do not handle player issues or moderation reports. However as staff they can help you get in contact with a moderator if one is needed. They also don't create lore, but may work with the event staff if needed when creating the events.
Members: Neon (admin), det0ur, iffy, tyrantkid, madcrep
EVENT TEAM
What do they do?
They dive into the history and create the lore and stories of Seichi to help create a richer experience. They also create a majority the fun events and keep us returning wondering what will they come up with next?
What don't they do?
Like Content, they don't handle player issues or moderation reports but can help you get in contact with a moderator. They don't do most of the technical work and are responsible for squashing bugs, but may still work closely with content members.
Members: Dusk, Kospan, Monami
In conclusion: Mods help with player based issues, and do not code/fix bugs/create content and lore. Content team creates items/bloodlines/jutsu etc. But does not handle player issues or create lore. Event team creates lore and runs events, but do not handle bugs or balance the game.
If there are further questions, feel free to submit one on our submission form below and we can answer them next issue!

Shine Spotlight
Winter in the Desert
By: tekai
For a place like Shine that places so much importance on the sun and sunlight, you might make the mistake of thinking that the winter is a slow season for us.
The lanterns festival on the winter solstice followed closely by Christmas and the new years leads to an extended festival season. During this period, everyone is encouraged to put up lanterns, dress their best and enjoy the festivities!
To add to this, this year our Kage, Kieto, is sponsoring a fashion contest. Anyone interested can see the submissions on the Shine discord, and should stick around to see who the winner will be!
On other news, despite the season. We have been focusing on the growth of Sunny! There isn't much plant life in the desert but thanks to the diligent efforts of all our ninja, It seems like Sunny the tree will be shining brighter than ever in the new year!
And speaking of news, our dear Aven has started her own local news corner called the Shine Sandworm! For anyone visiting the village(discord) be sure to stop by and tune into her articles!
The weather might be colder than usual, and we've even had some snow! But all that means is we have to stick closer together. In Shine, when the sun can't keep us warm, it's up to us to stay close and warm and shine together. Not to mention, everyone is training as hard as ever, with Alice(UnnamedSG) recently promoting to a deserved position of village Elder.
I wish all readers a sunny and warm new years on behalf of our village!!!

Breaknyan Nyews: Cat Girls Train Sewer-Savvy Fish to Recover Wednyan Ring, nya~
By: Hazelyn
In a tale so bizarre it could only happen in Tsukimori Village, two dedicated officers from the Cat Girl Divisnyan of the Tsukimori Police Department have made headlines. Forky, the self-proclaimed "nyo-nyonsense" leader, and Hazelyn, the seemnyanly aloof doughnyut enthusiast with a nyinty-nyine thousand IQ (it's true, nya), were tasked with an impossible missnyan: retrievenyan a lost wednyan ring from the depths of the city’s sewers.
The ring, believed to belong to the Tsukimori Kage—a shadowy figure whose identity isn't knyown, nyat because it's hidnyan but simply because it changes many times a day, often resultnyan in nyumerous Kages a month—had slipped into the labyrinthine sewer system during what Forky described as "an unnyecessarily dramatic moment, based on eyewitnyess reports," This constant rotatnyan of Kages left the girls utterly perplexed. Even if they manyaged to retrieve the ring, they wondered, "Who are we even supposed to give it to? By the time we find the Kage, it'll probably be somenyan else."
Enter their aquatic accomplice: Bubbles, an unassumenyan goldfish turned sewer-sleuth. The duo spent a full month rigorously trainyan Bubbles to nyavigate the sewage system. Accordnyan to sources, Hazelyn’s advanced IQ played a key role in developnyan the fish’s trainyan regimen, though Forky insists, "It was all my idea. I mean, who else would think of trainyan a fish?"
Progress was slow but steady. Hazelyn reportedly fueled her brainstormnyan sessnyan with a steady supply of glazed doughnyuts, which Forky claimed "really set the mood for genyius." Bubbles, equipped with a tiny tracknyan device, became a hero in trainyan, swimnyan through murky waters and dodgenyan all mannyer of sewer critters in pursuit of the ring.
And then, triumph! After a month of hard work, Bubbles emerged victorious, ring secured in its tiny fishy jaws. But the triumph was short-lived. Enter Penguin-hime, an eccentric local figure knyown for her love of fish dishes. Completely unyaware of Bubbles’ critical mission, she… ate him.
Eyewitnyess accounts suggest Hazelyn dropped her doughnyut in shock, while Forky screamed something unprintable. Penguin-hime, oblivious to the chaos she’d unleashed, remarked, “That fish tasted odd. Was it marinyated?”
The Cat Girl Divisnyan is nyow in crisis mode. Hazelyn’s nyinty nyine thousand IQ is benyan put to the test as she devises a plan. Forky, meanwhile, has declared an official "fish-eatnyan ban" across Tsukimori, a decree that has been met with equal parts confusenyan and outrage.
For nyow the ring’s fate, much like the ever-changnyan identity of the Tsukimori Kage, remains a mystery.
Stay tuned for updates on this unfoldnyan fish tale, where cat girls, shadowy figures, and an ill-fated goldfish collide in the most absurd investigatnyan Tsukimori Village has ever seen (yet nyanyway)

City of Mei Thrives
Underground Syndicate expand operations in city:
By: Cypher
The Syndicate's rapid expansion can be traced back to a series of village upheavals, wars, and pivotal events that created the perfect storm for defectors and refugees to seek refuge in the dirt. Disillusionment with leadership, internal conflicts, and escalating tensions within the traditional villages drove individuals to abandon their homes, many of whom found solace and opportunity within the Syndicate. This influx of talent and diversity bolstered its numbers, swelling from 15 to 87 players in just a few months.
From these exoduses and defections, new factions and alliances began to take shape in the dirt. Groups formed naturally, bound by shared struggles and aligned interests. Relationships blossomed—both romantic and professional—as the Syndicate became not just a refuge but a thriving community built on unity and ambition. These bonds, forged in the crucible of adversity, became the foundation for an unparalleled strength.
It was this convergence of events, relationships, and alliances that set the stage for the Syndicate's dominance in the tournament, where their collective power and coordination became impossible to ignore.
Tournament Dominance:
The Syndicate’s strength was on full display during the recent tournament, culminating in a semifinal round that featured Syndicate-heavy matchups and ultimately a Syndicate-exclusive showdown in the finals.
Semifinals:
Retired vs Heavenly Pounders
In an intense clash of endurance and strategy, Heavenly Pounders emerged victorious after a grueling series of battles. Retired pushed their limits, but the Syndicate team proved their resilience and coordination were unmatched.
Arcana vs Suicide Squad
This was a nail-biting contest that stretched into the third and final round, where a single member of Arcana remained standing with only 300 health. Arcana narrowly secured their place in the finals through sheer determination and grit.
Finals:
The finals featured a head-to-head showdown between Syndicate-based teams Heavenly Pounders and Arcana, a testament to the caliber of shinobi the Syndicate has cultivated. The Heavenly Pounders ultimately claimed victory, but both teams showcased incredible skill, teamwork, and strategy, solidifying the Syndicate's reputation as a dominant force in the ninja world.
Teams:
Heavenly Pounders (Syndicate)
Madcrep (Syndicate), Supermoose (Syndicate), Saint (Syndicate)
Retired (Shroud/Glacier)
ParmesanDon (Shroud), Arroh (Glacier), Retired (Glacier)(Formerly known as Titan) (Formerly known as Mr Philippines) (Formerly known as South America) (Formerly known as Mr Dehydrated)(Formerly known as Spelling Bee Champion)(Formerly known as Tina)(Formally known as VinnyMac)

Suicide Squad (Syndicate/Tsukimori)

C4 Syndicate Updates:
Syndicate Experience Gains
To ensure competitive parity with villages, Syndicate now benefits from EXP bonuses matching village gains for daily trainings. This update levels the playing field, allowing Syndicate members to progress at the same pace as those in traditional villages, further cementing the Syndicate as a legitimate and thriving faction.
Oblivion Seal Bloodline Rumors hit 17
Rumors claim 17 members have undertaken this harrowing transformation, trading their lineage for unparalleled control over shadows and solidifying the Syndicate’s reputation for embracing the forbidden.
Whispers of the Oblivion Seal Ritual
By: Cypher
In the dim corners of the Syndicate’s gatherings, whispers circulate of the Oblivion Seal, a cursed bloodline spoken of in hushed, reverent tones by elder members. These veterans recount tales of the ritual—a harrowing and taboo process shrouded in secrecy, conducted deep within the Syndicate's sanctum.
It is said that those who dare to seek the Oblivion Seal are led into the heart of shadow, where they face an excruciating trial. There, crawling shadow-tattoos, imbued with ancient and forbidden jutsu, etch themselves into the skin of the aspirants, marking them as wielders of the Void. These tattoos, constantly shifting and pulsating with dark energy, are more than symbols—they are living manifestations of the power they now command.
The cost, however, is steep. Rumors speak of the sacrifice of their original lineage, their past bloodlines sealed away forever in exchange for mastery over shadows. The process is said to be not only physically agonizing but spiritually binding, leaving the participants transformed in ways that can never be undone.
The elder members of the Syndicate claim that 17 individuals have undergone this forbidden ritual, forsaking their heritage to command the darkness. Among these whispered legends, some say that these wielders are now masters of the Void, capable of bending shadows to their will and striking fear into the hearts of their enemies. Yet, others warn of the price—how the Seal relentlessly consumes their chakra, growing ever stronger as it erodes their own power, binding them closer to the shadows they control.
Whether the truth or merely a tale to instill awe, the rumors of the Oblivion Seal serve as both a warning and a testament to the Syndicate’s willingness to embrace the forbidden for the sake of power and survival.
