This Is Harvard Lacrosse
Welcome to Harvard Lacrosse; an Undefeated Experience that includes everything from Top 20 Wins to developing All-Americans and Tewaarton Candidates, to community service, alumni networking, job placement and everything in between!
Athletic Excellence
The Focal Point of the Undefeated Experience is competition. We compete in everything that we do, and there is always a scoreboard.
Harvard Lacrosse will play anyone, anywhere, anytime; Ohio State in Naples, Florida, Michigan in Ann Arbor, the Netherlands National Team in Barcelona, as well as scrimmages against UNC in Washington DC, St. John's in New York City, and Maryland in Philadelphia.
This year is no different; we are scheduled to play the University of Notre Dame in Chicago and Syracuse in The Dome in addition to our rigorous Ivy League Schedule.
On Field Success
As a team, Harvard has finished in the top of several categories since Coach Byrne's arrival in the Summer of 2019. Harvard has routinely been amongst the top teams in Scoring Offense, Extra Man Percentage, Shot Percentage, Ground Balls Per Game, Clearing Percentage, Riding Percentage and Caused Turnovers.
There is no better coaching staff at developing players.
Jordan Field is the Home of Harvard Lacrosse.
Harvard Lacrosse has hosted several top 5 programs to Jordan field in the last few years. Including victories over Princeton & Cornell, we have also hosted Virginia in Michigan proving our point that we will play anyone anywhere!
We have led the league in home attendance the last three years, including sell outs this year for both UVA & Brown.
There is no better place in the Ivy League to play than Jordan Field!
Fall Trip
Every Fall we have decided to travel to a new city and allow our student athletes an opportunity to explore different parts of the country. During these trips, we scrimmage another high level Division 1 Lacrosse team, connect with our alumni in respective cities, explore different hot spots, and spend time together to help reinforce our culture. In the last few years, we have traveled to New York City, Philadelphia, Washington DC and Baltimore, with a trip to Chicago on the horizon this fall.
International Trip to Spain
Once every 4 Years, we are permitted to provide an opportunity for our team to take an international trip. In June of 2024, the Harvard Men's lacrosse traveled to Barcelona for a jam packed week of activities. From hiking in the Pyrenees Mountains, to a boat ride in the Mediterranean Sea, our student athletes were able to learn about the Catalan Culture, explore different cuisine and spend time together in new city. We wrapped up our trip with friendly competition against the Spanish and Dutch National teams before a trip to FC Barca's new state of the art stadium.
One of the pillars of our program is that this is your experience, and we want you to study what you want! We believe that if you have a deep rooted interest in the topic, you will often times see success. This has lead to Harvard Lacrosse having the highest GPA of any College Lacrosse team for the last 3 years in a row.
The ability to study what you want will not impact your future career path. There are many different paths that you can take from Harvard, including studying History to ending up working in Investment Banking.
Community Service
Harlem Lacrosse of Boston X Harvard Lacrosse
We believe in creating opportunities for our student athletes to give back and connect with the community around us. One of the key organizations that we have developed a close relationship with is Harlem Lacrosse of Boston (HLOB). This past fall, our Student Athletes played a version of pick-up lacrosse called "Chumash" in Dorchester with the young athletes of HLOB. This unique experience allows our guys to have fun with the sport, and give back to the community in ways they never thought possible. One of the great moments during your time here will be walking out to Jordan Field and seeing the HLOB line up to give you a high five and wish you luck!
Team Impact X Harvard Lacrosse
Dating back to our first fall in Cambridge, Harvard Lacrosse has embraced our relationship with Team Impact. Our guys have done an unbelievable job making Braxton feel like a member of our team. In an effort to increase fundraising efforts for Team Impact, we created the Team Impact Burrito Bowl, that raised over $33,000 in 2023. Like anything else, we have tried to raise the bar, and have exciting plans for this fall.
One Love X Harvard Lacrosse
Harvard Lacrosse has been a huge supporter of the One Love Organization. What started as a commitment to Yards for Yeardley, has turned into creating opportunities to spread awareness and education for One Love. Andrew O'Berry '24 created the One Love Club here at Harvard with the support of his teammates, and we are proud that Finn Pokorny '26 and John Fontham '25 have taken leddership roles moving forward.
Each Spring, we will host a One Love game to bring awareness to this organization. Our student athletes will wear "One Love" Shooting Shirts, and we will have tons of giveaways to fans as they enter Jordan Field. Our Student Athletes also do an educational workshop to learn more about Healthy Relationships prior to our game.
Career Development
HLX Alumni Network
Being a member of the Harvard Lacrosse community provides you access to the most robust and prestigious alumni network in the world. Dating back to 1878, there are nearly 150 years of Harvard Lacrosse Alumni, including nearly 1,000 living alumni.
You will interact with Harvard Lacrosse Alumni in many ways. Before our Alumni Game, we have our "HLX Alumni Networking" event connecting our current team with alumni that will compete later in the day. We also coordinate Networking Events with HLX Alumni during our Fall and Preseason Trips that allow our student athletes unprecedented access to "Life After Harvard".
HLX 1881 LinkedIn Group
The Harvard Lacrosse "1881 Alumni Network" is the Largest Alumni Network on LinkedIn of any College Team. Our HLX1881 Alumni Network is a resource only available to current and former members of our team. This Alumni Network allows our program to stay connected professionally. Our alumni will post jobs directly in our group, and players are able respond and connect immediately. As a member of our team, you will be admitted to our private "HLX 1881 Alumni Network" once you start at Harvard. We also have a public LinkedIn group that is open to any and all, that allows fans to follow our achievements both on and off the field.
Internships and Job Placement
In addition to our extensive Alumni Network, our student athletes also have access to the Harvard Office of Career Services, the Harvard Varsity Club, and the Harvard Alumni Association.
