THANK YOU!

Before we jump in, we want to pause and thank you. Thank you for showing up in the lives of hurting teenagers with the hope of the Gospel. Thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with them as you build friendships. Thank you for continuing to pursue them in the middle of chaos. The work is certainly not easy, but it is so important. We pray that your time at Rockbridge Alum Springs will be a breath of fresh air and will provide your friends with the opportunity to laugh, experience adventure, and hear the greatest Story ever told.

This is a lot of information. However, we have worked hard to ensure that unnecessary information or to-dos have been left out. Hopefully everything included here will keep you informed and make it as easy as possible to get to Rockbridge this summer.

If you have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact us at youngliferockbridge@gmail.com or 540-997-9276 (office)

We ask that you carefully read ALL THIS INFORMATION as it contains details that will prepare you for your week. There are also several paperwork items that must be completed in a timely manner.

Please fill out this Eastern Division Camp Trip Survey ASAP to help us at Rockbridge prepare to best serve you and your friends!

Pre-Trip YLCC Information + Housing

With YL Connect Camp being required for summer 2024, we wanted to provide you with more information regarding your trip and what we need from you with YLCC.

The Arrival Form – The arrival form in YLCC replaced the Reg Packet/A Form excel document. This form must be filled out 48 hours before your camp trip and it is best practice to take the first pass at 10 days out. This page in the YLCC Learning Guide walks you through all of the fields that need to be completed. You can also watch this 6-minute video on the arrival form. The following fields must be completed. Your YL Connect Camp Arrival Form (Housing) MUST be available 48 hours prior to arrival.

  • Correct Involement Role
  • HC Form
  • Housing
  • Leader Orientation
  • # of Times at Summer Camp
  • Checked-In

If you make changes between 48 hours and your arrival to camp, please email Matt Hypes at mhypes@rockbridge.younglife.org so we can make sure we update information where needed. Don’t forget that you can utilize the Add Registrant feature in YLCC to add a registrant without them completing a WCX registration. Check out the information here in the learning guide or watch this minute and half video.

The Arrival Form Complete button indicates that the arrival form is accurate for your camp trip. DO NOT hit this button. We will review together at settle up and utilize this feature at that time to confirm your campers and leaders.

Free Time Rides + Activities

For Safety reasons, Young Life has established weight limits on some of the activities we offer campers. The maximum for the ropes course, climbing tower and zip line is 300 lbs. and the giant swing 350 lbs. If you know have a camper or leader that may be close to these amounts, please have a conversation with them prior to arrival to make them aware of this policy. We don't want an embarrassing moment for them while at camp. Thank you for helping us navigate these situations.

Due to potential limited Work Crew and Summer Staff scheduled rides may be limited and may change.

  • Carriage House (Coffee Shop)
  • Gym
  • Frisbee Golf
  • Pool with Diving Board
  • Rockbridge Confectionary (Snack Bar)

The Mercantile, Confectionary, and Carriage House will be open for purchases during free time for all campers and leaders. The Carriage House will be open prior to breakfast, but make sure you arrive early- we close the doors 45 minutes prior to the meal in order have everyone on time. Crafts can be purchased in the Confectionary.

Tickets + Gift Cards

  • Cognito Gift Cards can be purchased online via the Cognito form. These gift card requests are sent to the Retail Manager who then makes the gift cards and corresponding customer accounts on our square registers. Online purchasers are made aware that it may take up to 12 hours to load the gift card into our square registers. These gift cards are refunded at the end of the person's time at camp through Square to the card used to purchase the gift card on Cognito.
  • Tickets can be set up by area directors and staff people in Concessions spaces (The Snack Bar and Carriage House). Items can be added to tickets throughout their time at camp and later charged at the end of their stay through internal transfer.
