Flu Vaccine Social Media Toolkit For American Indian and Alaska Native Communities

You can help American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities protect themselves against the flu and other respiratory diseases by sharing information on vaccines.

CDC expects different viruses to spread this fall and winter, including COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and the flu virus.

With the continuing spread of COVID-19, American Indians and Alaska Natives are at a higher risk of developing serious complications from the flu. Thankfully, vaccines provide an opportunity to improve health outcomes for Indigenous communities!

Let's do our best to ensure all American Indians and Alaska Natives get an annual flu vaccine! We encourage you to increase communication efforts among Nations, Tribes, and Villages around the importance of vaccines and vaccine safety. This toolkit will help you share the benefits of flu vaccination and the impact of the flu on everyone, and especially those with chronic health conditions, including people with HIV.

How to use the toolkit:

  • Use toolkit content, graphics, and messaging in your communications this fall and winter
  • Customize and share materials with your audiences and stakeholders
  • Engage local partners to increase the community’s understanding and confidence in vaccines

General tips:

  • Customize the messages below to best fit your audience
  • Tag partner social media accounts as appropriate
