Flu Vaccine Social Media Toolkit For Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities

Vaccination is essential to protecting our communities’ health.

CDC expects different viruses to spread this fall and winter, including COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and the flu virus. So, it is critical to work with each other to prevent the spread of respiratory diseases in our communities

Getting vaccinated against respiratory viruses and practicing healthy habits is especially important to protect those with serious medical conditions, such as our elderly population. Many in the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community view vaccination and other public health issues from the perspective that we are more than an individual, and instead, part of a larger group.

Let’s keep up the good work—the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that flu vaccination coverage is higher among AAPIs compared to other racial and ethnic groups and AAPIs have the lowest flu-related hospitalization rates. As a community, it is important to continue promoting vaccination against the flu, COVID-19, and RSV, improving coverage rates, and preventing serious illness and hospitalization.

We encourage you to help educate AAPI communities on vaccine safety, vaccine benefits, and vaccine recommendations.
