More than 300 Drexel student-athletes gave back to the local community by taking part in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. The Dragons participated in community clean-up service projects at 12 locations throughout the West Philadelphia community, including the Tiffany Fletcher Community Center, Aspen Farms, Transfiguration Church, Mantua Urban Peace Garden, the Clara Muhammad School, the New Africa Center, Calvary Chapel and New River Presbyterian Church.

Olympian Jackie Joyner-Kersee Attends Vidas Field Day

Over 200 students from Alain Locke Elementary School joined Drexel student-athletes, coaches, and Olympian and philanthropist Jackie Joyner-Kersee at Drexel Athletics' third annual Vidas Field Day. Dragons Support Area Youth Through Team IMPACT

Team IMPACT provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for a child and their family to connect with a college athletic team and local campus community. Men's Basketball and Wrestling partnered with Team IMPACT to support several area children.

Pennimpede Selected to NCAA Division I SAAC Board

Men’s swimmer Tommy Pennimpede has been chosen by the NCAA to represent the CAA on the National Division I SAAC Board for the 2024-25 academic year. Pennimpede was elected the Drexel SAAC President for the 2024-25 year. He is the first Drexel student-athlete to serve on the national board. Carmen and Brown Represent Drexel at CAA SAAC Leadership Summit

Hannah Carmen of the women's swimming and diving team and Peaches Brown, Drexel's Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development, represented Drexel at the CAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Leadership Summit in Richmond, Va. Participants shared insights regarding the student-athlete experience and interacted with administrators and conference staff members about a variety of issues in the ever-changing world of collegiate athletics.

Morgan's Message

In its third year, Morgan's Message created a broader reach within the athletic community. Initiatives and meetings focused on normalizing the conversation around athletics and mental health. Morgan's Message strives to amplify stories, resources, and expertise to strengthen student-athlete mental health, build a community by and for athletes through peer-to-peer conversations, and provide a platform for advocacy.
