Another year in the books, a challenging one for our industry. A collective THANK YOU to each team member who battled through 2023 and helped position us for a "bounce back" 2024!

We finished the month with 131 funded loans for $35 M. This number was down a bit from last year, but we have some very positive trends heading into January. December applications totaled 147, up 42 from last December. Future locks stand at 125 for $30 M, up 6 and $2.2 M over 2023. Most impressive is our total loan pipeline which stands at 458 units and $138 M, up a whopping 122 loans and $42 M. A little inventory and rate assistance and we anticipate a huge increase over the 2,068 loan $545 M year we just completed.

Lorinda James is a native of Central New York and attended LeMoyne University on a Leadership scholarship, where she played soccer. She had a brief stint in the restaurant business, then moved to Virginia Beach in 2002. Shortly after, she started her career at Tidewater Mortgage Services, Inc. as a baby LO in 2005. Peyton von Hirsch, Jeremy Krupnick, David Straight, Cyndi Curl, Patty Bartneck and Jill Maloney welcomed her and helped her from Junior LO to Raleigh Branch Manager. Lorinda met her husband, Jason, the night before her move to Raleigh and was back in Virginia Beach for their wedding a short two years later.

The Path to Diversity Scholarship Program recognizes existing industry professionals who are seeking to advance their careers through continuing education. Recipients receive a voucher to cover course registration fees, up to a maximum of $2,000, for popular MBA Education courses and designation programs. This education opportunity enables employees from diverse backgrounds to advance their professional growth and career development.

Scholarships awarded under the Path to Diversity program can also be used towards six upcoming MBA Conferences where attendees can obtain Continuing Professional Education (CPE), Continuing Legal Education (CLE) or Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) credits.

Since the scholarship is only a voucher to cover registration fees, TMSI will cover the cost of travel and hotels for any conference if necessary to any awarded applicant!
