Text Content
General Content Guidelines
- Do not use personal brand name, Adobe, Adobe Apps, or other brand names in Project Panel, or layers.
- Ensure that any text within a template is spelled properly in the content and in the layer names.
- Any placeholder text should use lorem ipsum and very generic names, streets etc. where possible. (see image below).
- Avoid IP infringement - don't using real names and references to identifiable people, companies, and locations.
- Mobile and web templates (such as UI kits, social media kits, etc.) meant to be used with certain apps and/or devices should only be described with referential phrasing such as "for Facebook" or "for iPhone" etc. for legal compliance.

It helps designers and motion graphics artists visualize the layout and timing of text animations without having to create actual copy content.
Assets in Template Files
General Visual Asset Guidelines
- Do not submit content that does not belong to you, or incorporate photos, images, or other graphic elements that are not yours - this includes content found on websites, through online search results, content licensed from other stock sites, and logos/references to brands (including Adobe and Adobe products).
- Images included in your template file must comply with existing Adobe Stock legal requirements - you must have full ownership of the image and have the proper model and property releases (if applicable).
- Review the Adobe Stock Account and Submission Guidelines to ensure you understand content ownership and avoid any prohibited activities.
- Do not include QR codes or barcodes in your template file - use placeholder areas to indicate that a user can add their own QR codes or barcodes.
Release Guidelines
If your image requires a property release, it must be uploaded, attached and submitted with your template in the contributor portal.
Review our property release requirements to determine if your image will require a release.
For instructions on how to upload release and attach it to your template, refer to the upload a release guidelines for detailed steps on uploading and attaching releases in the contributor portal.
Remind Workflow in Contributor Portal
If your template was rejected for an release issue (i.e., no attached release for a template that requires one) you can upload and attach a release to your original submission without needing to re-upload your template. This kind of rejection is called a "Reminder". Templates rejected for a release issue can be found in the "Reminder" section under "Uploaded Files" in the contributor portal.
Pre-Rendered Media Assets within Templates:
Any images, videos, design elements or pre-rendered media assets included in a template are considered fully licensed by the customer to be modifiable as they choose.
Optional: A property release is advised when including assets within your templates.
Pre-rendered Media Asset Parameters:
- For video, format can be .mov (ProRes / H.264) or .mp4 (H.264)
- For still images, format can be .png, .jpg, or .tiff
- Please note, when using highres assets you project file will be heavier
- All pre-rendered assets must be created by you or have the adequate usage rights.
- If needed you can provide a property release.
- Do not include spaces in filenames - including in the template file, .jpg files, .mp4 files, .zip file, or in the metadata CSV form.
Generative AI
If your template includes Generative AI content, you must ensure you have the appropriate rights to the content, that it meets our quality standards, and adheres to our release requirements.
For more information, review Generative AI Content in Templates prior to submitting this type of content.
Placeholder Areas
- If you do not have images that you created/own, you may license Adobe Stock images and videos from the Free Collection for display use in the thumbnail/preview videos, but the actual template file must have placeholder areas in place of actual visuals.
- Placeholder areas must be clearly labeled as "[YOUR IMAGE HERE]" in the layer names (or something similar) to indicate to users that they should customize these areas.
- Placeholder areas should be non-specific and set up using the appropriate tools for each app.
