After Effects Pre-Flight Script available for download here. Use this script to check your AE Templates before you submit them. Below are the tasks the script performs:

  • Deletes the render queue items
  • Changes the expressions engine to Javascript
  • Changes the resolution to Full
  • Changes the workspace to Default
  • Updates time display from frames to timecode
  • Deletes all ruler guides

  1. Guidelines have changed for 2023. Many technical and submission guidelines have been reduced; please review Technical Requirements and Submission Requirements.

  1. Submission Guidelines - Clarified following: Naming MoGRTs should be descriptive of your template and include the category it is in. Use 1-3 descriptors. Template names submitted within a calendar year must be unique or they will fail upload.
  2. Metadata Guidelines - 2022 Metadata Sheet is now available. Please be sure to continue to use Microsoft Excel or LibreOffice to edit the sheet.

  1. Artist FAQ - Feedback process changed to 3 weeks to hear from the Stock Team.
  2. Category Requirements - Individual Category Requirements for most categories have been reduced to only the Overall Requirements (except Lower Thirds, Social Media, and Infographics). This page now serves as Category Examples to explain each MoGRT category type and what controls can be valuable to your MoGRT. New video examples, including Media Replacement, were added.
  3. Metadata Guidelines - Expanded information about automated keywords, removed per-category imagery and descriptions, updated screenshots. 2022 Metadata sheet coming soon.
  4. Submission Guidelines - Payment information removed and placed in Artist FAQ. Feedback process changed to 3 weeks to hear from the Stock Team.
  5. Technical Guidelines - Guidelines pertaining to using less than 10 text inputs and 10 Media Replacement inputs have been added. Part II: Preview Media section made more consistent
  6. Homepage - Older page update information removed. New updates added. Category Requirements changed to Category Examples. 2022 Creative Brief link moved to Creative Brief

Artist FAQ has been updated with the following information:

  1. How long does a review take? In general, you should hear back from us within 2 week, but this can be extended due to the amount of templates queued before your batch, holidays, etc.
  2. Are there examples of acceptable Motion Graphics templates? We've put together these free project files to teach technical best practices, optimal Essential Graphics Panel set-up, useful expressions, and ideal user experience for MoGRTS: Download Educational Templates.
  3. Can I use videos or images in my preview video and thumbnail image? Yes, as long as it is licensed from a stock site. We encourage use of the Adobe Stock free collection.

Category Requirements has been updated with the following information:

  1. Requirements for Lower Thirds, Title Overlays, & Transitions have been reduced from a maximum to 5 from 10

Expressions Guide has been updated with the following information

  1. Dropdown Menu Control expressions
  2. Expressions standardized across the page

Technical Requirements has been updated with the following information:

  1. Information standardized and bolded for clarity
  2. Use Drop Down Menus instead of sliders for style selection. Be sure to rename each index descriptively.
  3. Text Best Practices: Avoid using all-caps cursive text; Add Letter Spacing controls when using cursive text; Add Line Spacing controls for all text inputs.
