Highlights and statements
Welcome to the second edition of the Ninja Scrolls! The official MOD RUN paper.
Your monthly source for news from the mods.
May is here! The flowers are blooming, the trees are regrowing their leaves and the next issue of the Seichi Scrolls has been released.
First I have to apologize for it's late release. I only recently got home from being away for a week and after a little relaxation this issue was pushed back a few days.
I'd like to start by announcing Brank's departure as mod. While his stay was short, we all appreciated his hard work and dedication while he was here. He will be missed as a moderator, but you will still catch him around!
The mod applications are also now closed. Currently we are reviewing and discussing the submissions. Chosen candidates will be contacted once the decisions are made, and an announcement will follow by the time they have their in-game roles.

Warnings, Silences and Bans — What's the Difference?
By: teni
In the world of moderation, there are some terms you'll see everywhere, such as banning and warning. Others might be a bit more unique to the needs of a specific game or website, such as silencing on TNR. In the context of TNR, what does each of these mean, and how can they affect you if you cross the line into rule-breaking territory?
Warnings: First, a “warning” is an official statement that will be added to your TNR account. If you have done something that has broken a rule, you'll receive one as a record of you having been told that your behaviour, or something you said, was deemed against the rules. Receiving a warning does NOT mean you are being punished. It is only a record that you have been officially made aware of your actions, and if that action is repeated, it could lead to punishment afterwards. A warning is not, in itself, a punishment.
Mods are typically asked not to issue more than two warnings for the same behaviour before further action is taken. Unofficial warnings are no longer being given out; however, a mod may still DM you to give you a chance to correct your behaviour before issuing a warning, or to clarify whether you are aware of the rules.
Silences: A “silence” is a type of soft ban, rendering a user unable to engage in the tavern or DMs for a period of time. However, the player can still play the game (I just lost the game) regularly with no other restrictions. Typically, a user will receive a warning first; however, if the offence is deemed serious enough or the user has received multiple warnings, a silence may be given.
A silence under 24 hrs may be issued if a user is being disruptive and the mods wish to give a short time-out. Any silence under 24 hours will not result in a strike against their account. More serious or repeated behaviour, however, may receive a silence that is 24 hours or over. In those cases, a strike will be issued against the user.
Typically, users will receive a warning for their behaviour first, but for more severe cases or situations where swift action is needed, a silence may be issued without prior warning. For an explanation of the rules, including the strike system, click here.
Bans: A “ban” is reserved for more serious offences; mostly those that involve severe gameplay or bug abuse, but also occasionally for more severe social infractions as well. Bans restrict tavern and DM usage, like silences; however, they also severely restrict gameplay. A banned user is no longer able to engage with PvP and may only complete one eight-hour training session per day. These count as two strikes against the user account.
As with silences, warnings are typically given first; however, for situations deemed more severe, there may be no warnings.
~~~
While bans and silences may lead to strikes, warnings do not. If you receive a warning on your account, there is no need to worry as long as you remain mindful of the rules afterwards! We all wish to keep TNR fun and safe for everyone. If you ever have any questions or need any clarifications, my DMs are always open on TNR — just like any of the other mods.
Village Features- Call out!
For the mod newspaper we would like to include one article about each village and would like a player from each village to contribute! Articles will be due by the last day of each month, and must be sent either directly to teni, or a mod. If you are interested in writing your village please reach out! I received a couple articles for the first edition but I am still looking for contributors!
Article Guidelines:
- Under 1000 words
- Follow TNR rules and ToS
- Must be a unique contribution written for The Ninja Scrolls
- May be RP based, a general article about the village (hottest eats in Glacier!), a village event (festivals, a high profile marriage, a raiding event), or general politics (who is warring who this month?), let your creativity guide you!
- One to two articles per village
Frost and Silence: The Rise of Gemino and the Rule of Rx
By:Rx
In the shadowed wake of rising tensions, as blades clashed and banners burned across the fractured lands of Seichi, a figure stepped from the mists—his presence as cold and certain as winter’s breath. Gemino, a name once whispered in quiet corners of the world, now echoed through the war-torn peaks as he rose to claim the mantle of Kage of Glacier. His ascension was neither announced with ceremony nor cloaked in politics. It was swift. Silent. Ruthless. As if the very ice had chosen him to lead. And he wasted no time.
While the clans of Seichi spilled blood beneath crimson skies, Gemino made his move not with speeches, but with action. In the heart of the conflict—where mountains groaned under the weight of war and the very land seemed to fracture with each passing day—he stepped into War Peak. Once a neutral ground, now a battlefield scarred by years of struggle, it became the proving ground of his authority. With calculated precision, Gemino and his shinobi struck like phantoms, driving deep into the heart of the chaos. And when the dust settled, the Glacier banner flew high over the ruins, its icy sigil gleaming in defiance of fire and fury.
This was no mere territorial gain. It was a message, etched in frost and blood.
To the clans watching from afar, it became clear: this was not a Kage content to inherit power. This was a sovereign of storms, carving his dominion with blade and resolve. The world of Seichi shifted beneath his footsteps. Old alliances trembled. Rivals recalibrated. For some, War Peak had been a contested high ground. For Gemino, it was simply the first step.
Rumors now swirl like snow on the wind—of hidden techniques unearthed in the Glacier archives, of warriors reborn in the chill of loyalty, and of a Kage whose eyes see far beyond the current war. Seichi watches with bated breath as a new chapter begins, written in frost and sealed with purpose.
Gemino has claimed more than land. He has claimed the moment. And now, all who walk the path of shadow must ask themselves: will they stand with Glacier… or fall beneath its rising storm?
In the frost-clad halls of Glacier’s ancestral sanctum, beneath the glimmer of ancient ice that remembers every war and whisper, the elders gathered. Branks, Caranore, and the enigmatic Nrfzyzhr—names carried with weight and legacy—stood side by side for the first time in an age. Each bore the burden of countless winters, and yet, in this moment, their eyes burned with renewed fire.
As the storm of war swept through Seichi, it became clear: no single blade, no lone shadow, could cut through the chaos alone. And so, the elders—guardians of tradition and architects of Glacier’s hidden strength—set aside their differences, old wounds buried beneath layers of frost and duty. With solemn ceremony, they clasped hands—an ancient sign among shinobi that words were not enough, that oaths must be sealed through action.
Together, they cast their vote—not just in council, but in spirit—to move forward under one banner, toward a shared future. The decision: to forge an alliance with the Current Village, whose forces, like Glacier’s, were hardened by nature and honed by necessity. Though their elements differed—ice and water—their enemies were the same, and their survival now intertwined.
This pact, forged in silence but solid as glacier stone, signals more than diplomacy—it is unity reborn in a time of fragmentation. A cold alliance, yes, but one with purpose. One that could change the tide of war.
As word spreads through the shadows of Seichi, one truth begins to crystallize: Glacier no longer stands alone. And with the might of the Current beside them, a new front rises—steady, unyielding, and ready to shape the course of the war.
In the cold wake of war, War Peak fell silent—its echoes of steel replaced by whispers of grief. The people of Glacier, once proud and unyielding, now moved like ghosts through shattered streets, burdened by loss and the weight of change.
Into this silence stepped Rx.
Where Gemino ruled in fire and frost, Rx ruled in restraint. Seeing his people broken, he made a bold decree: no challenges to the throne, no war—for seven days. Glacier would not bleed again before it could breathe.
Seven days of silence.
No battles. No ambition. Just stillness.
And slowly, the frost began to lift—not from stone, but from spirit. The village stirred. Children returned to play. Shinobi stood tall once more. Glacier remembered what it was, and what it could be.
As the seventh dusk fell, the people gathered before the Stone of Verdicts. Rx stood—worn armor, calm eyes—and spoke:
“Peace has walked with us, but war calls again. I was not chosen to conquer, only to hold the line. Soon, I will pass the throne—to one with the will to lead not just through war, but beyond it.”
With those words, the seal was broken.
The throne would open.
The storm would rise.
And one would emerge to carry Glacier’s will into the fire once more.
Sunny the Tree Shines On
By: AngelSaber
Rumors have abounded that Sunny the Tree has been cut down! Rest assured, Sunny is thriving and well… and it stands proudly as the tallest tree of Seichi, measuring 6,482 feet at the time of writing.
Though war besieges Shine from most every direction, the legacy of the Village Hidden in the Sand endures in Sunny the Tree. The very land glitters and glows with the power of the tree, a symbol of Amaterasu’s boundless will. It stands tall and will stand tall for all time.
We take the time now to thank those who have helped Sunny grow throughout the years — chiefly among them our iconic grove tender, Trendkill. Of the countless ninjas who have taken care of Sunny, we would also like to highlight the top 10 greatest contributors in its history:
1 - Trendkill
2 - MaV
3 - Light
4 - TearsofAngel
5 - Teni
6 - UnnamedSG
7 - Aven
8 - Skye
9 - Tekai
10 - Restless
Thank you for nurturing the combined soul of our village. Because of you, all of Seichi can enjoy Sunny’s magnificence.
From just this list and beyond, we are glad to thank not just Shineys but ninjas from all over Seichi, who can also claim Sunny’s greatness as part of their legacy. Fun fact and special mention: even an all-consuming hatred for Shine has not prevented SasukeUchiha from watering Sunny six times. Thank you too, Sasuke!
What are you waiting for? Go water Sunny too and shine on, everyone!
In the first edition of The Ninja Scrolls we caught up with some fresh Jonin to talk about their experiences on TNR. As a few months have passed we caught up with them again to find out how their experience has evolved.
What was the highlight of your journey on TNR so far?
I'd say the highlight of my journey was the long and winding path of beating El Grincho, nothing has quite hit as nicely as spending about 2 weeks constantly fighting and refining to finally beat that monster.
What's the best advice you received?
The best advice I received was to never hesitate to ask for help, the community as a whole is very helpful.
What is your favourite game?
my favourite game has got to be starcraft, I spent a lot of time playing that game and have had many memories that will last forever.
What are you looking forward to?
I am looking forward to future updates that will encourage playing together (ssshhh).
Do you have any tips for others on their journey through Seichi?
I highly recommend that you should always experiment and learn, the more you know the more you can apply it to other things.
What was the highlight of your journey on TNR so far?
In the beginning of the Beta, I joined Shine for 2 reasons. 1st reason was to be with old friends from SC. 2nd to be with my bro. Then I was able to make additional friends like Rill, Alle, Goah, Saint, Kendo, Sakuna, Del, Moltres. It was fun hanging out with them. I left and returned to a new generation of shine members and boy are they fun! I know people like to say old shine vs new shine, but it’s all Shine to me. It has been a blast making tons of new friends and even some frenemies (SasukeUchiha).
What's the best advice you received?
The Brain is a powerful tool, but a horrible master.
What is your favourite game?
Monster Hunter / Pokemon
What are you looking forward to?
Looking forward to my war fun and reminding everyone to praise the sun ☀️
Do you have any tips for others on their journey through Seichi?
It’s easy to get caught up in the politics of the game and get upset/emotional about changes. The biggest tip is that it’s a game guys. I hope everyone remembers that. Oh. Also don’t forget to Praise the Sun ☀️
AngelSaber
What was the highlight of your journey on TNR so far?
Making friends I was especially lucky to start TNR around the same time as MaV and LoD, it’s fun to grow together, and Shine is full of friendly OG players who helped me navigate a very overwhelming learning curve when I started playing. Konoki is also full of really fun and nice people.
What's the best advice you received?
I’ve received too much good advice from a lot of people! Most notably, Delo helped me with my kit crafting. SG helped me learn how to do quests and analyze the TNR logs/databases. Jojo helped me with stats distribution and PVP tips. And LoD helped me see the usefulness of consumable items in the game, you need to be learning how to play with them once you’re at a competitive PVP level.
What is your favourite game?
TNR!
What are you looking forward to?
Being able to help new players and to see TNR get bigger.
Do you have any tips for others on their journey through Seichi?
Start an alt as soon as you can for extra ryo/rep gains. Learn to play defensively first, how to layer tags and when to cleanse and clear, and lean into the tags for your BL. Ask a lot of questions, it’s a complex game system you’ve joined and it does take time to learn! And don’t be afraid to jump into PVP and lose a lot, you’ll learn faster that way.
